indeed. those fuckin hippies! I wonder though, in the movie, they suggest that britain is an island (of course).... the disease was contained to just that area, and it was an experiment to see how fast that disease would spread and then wipe itself out, since there is no means for that disease to go through oceans or through the air....
I think that it was less of an experiment to begin with, but then the global community just became curious and made it into one. Shit, if we're isolating the place, might as well see what happens. They did fail to save thousands of lives, those wanker Americans... This one death in the movie ( I don't want to spoil it ) was just terrible... such a silly way to get infected, and such a crappy way too die.
Well, I thought that this movie is kinda kick-ass, and Cillian Murphy in it is just incredibly hot. (Alright, so I've a celebrity crush, sue me... but he's still a hottie.) What would I do if everyone I knew was infected with such a disease? I'd probably freak right out... I've no idea what I'd do in that situation. I think that the story itself is kinda plausible... it's got lots of very interesting subplots that could've better been explored... it'd be interesting to see what the sequel is about....
agreed, BSR.... that didn't make sense either to me.... I wonder why the animals didn't get infected? (like the crow) or how ppl survived? I guess such things might get explained in the sequel.... the only thing I worry though, about, is that sequels tend to suck.
do animals show rage, though????? are they violent by nature?? do they kill just to kill?? chimps and humans are similair in makeup, just like the aids virus, we got aids from chimps..... do you see other animals with the aids virus? no.
that movie was definately craked out. that guy was naked with tubes and such hanging off of him in the first scene, now tell me that's not weird...
yeah, whats up with that full frontal nudity, anyways?? yeah he was in a coma, but why didnt he have a gown on?
I did read somewhere that if you cook the 'infected' over low heat, say 200-300 degrees, for about 8-12 hours, and throw in 2/3 damp woodchips with 1/3 dry wrapped in tinfoil, they make a tasty entree... Serve thin sliced on a hard roll with a side of horseradish and some heavy pit style BBQ sauce, and you've got yourself an end of the world sampling of fine slowed cooked barbecued mutant. Other then that, I thought the movie was excellent. I think the best part was when they received the radio transmission at the end, and nobody knew French. It just states the point that no matter what, there would always be survivors, and they would attempt to contact others to re-establish some sort of civilization. Maybe open a deli, or a post office or such.
That's true... good point. Yeah, I didn't get that either. Since when are people naked whilst in the hospital getting treatment? I wouldn't want to go there. Then again, I happen to like that actor, so seeing a little male nudity every once in a while ain't too shabby in my books.
animals kill just to kill all the time. they also show rage, fear, the entire slew of emotions like humans do. some get perverse enjoyment from toying with their prey, some kill just to keep their skills sharp, some just because it was easy. we're just animals, too. i think, though, in the movie, the animals didn't get infected for the same reason they don't get our flu.
anything to do with entertainment with a capitol E is a big wtf to me anyway. as for what i'd do in any sort of end of whatever cause everythings too screwed up to avoid it scenario is eat a good meal, and go to sleep. whatever is or isn't still there, if and when i wake up, will be whatever it is. if you can do something about something, fine, then do it, if you really think it will accomplesh the kind of resaults you think you'll want to live with. if there isn't anything you can think of that is likely to, well, you can toss coins, roll dice or what have you, or go to sleep. i never get enough sleep anyway. =^^= .../\...
I thought the alternate endings were quite cool, although it may not've opened it up to a sequel though. But they wre cool.
one of the alternate endings doesnt make sense....... frank (the old man) is brought to a hospital, where they supposedly have the cure for the infected.... and that is a complete blood transfusion, so the lead character, jim, decides he will give his blood to frank, so there he is at the end, as he was in the beginning of the film, lying on a hospital bed........ what makes no sense though, is that, if one drop of blood in the eye made frank infected, then how could they go through a complete blood transfusion?????? so IM sure thats why they didnt go with that ending.
