some of my crazieset experiences were drug related too, i must say - especially when salvia divinorum comes into play. strong, mystical experiences

    - meeting a goddess of pure light and energy in the salvia realm, healing my girlfriend of a serious medical issue (she, unknowing about my taking salvia the night before, even called me in the morning saying she felt all better) i still maintain it is impossible for the average human being to know what it is to truly and entirely worship a deity with all of your being until you are brought face to face with one and are so moved and awed that there is no part of you that isn't singing for it

    - being pulled behind the scenes of reality and shown an infinite flight of stairs in a world of white light, with angels forever walking up and down, mediating between the spiritual and material worlds, helping humans the best they could

    - being punished later on a few occasions for treating salvia like a toy and using it disrespectfully when i was unprepared for the magnitude of what may happen. the experiences were terrifying and beyond linguistic interpretation. i can think of at least two or three instances, but cannot describe them well.

    - making up and being welcomed back into the salvia realm while on a moderate dose of LSA and taking salvia simultaneously, and being brought to a cave, the inside of a multifacted jewel, dripping with knowledge and consciousness, never seeing any beings directly, but hearing them saying "welcome back, welcome back," over and over and feeling their presence

Absolutely Colin. The main ingrediant in authentic spiritual/religious experience, is obviously, experience.
When you realize that Spirit is a translinguistic, all permeating unknowable force, it becomes quite clear
that no one could know God without going through that very experience.
Its like the one doctor said on the Other World's documentary, that preachers and preists speak to us about
the records of men before having spiritual experiences in the Bible and the likes, but if modern day preachers
were to have that experience, they would more than likely call 911 or poison control

    i agree, totally.

this was only A god (well, a goddess, rather) but the principle is the same, and i'm of the opinion that there are many divine beings which we may call "gods" but that like everything else in existance are all parts of THE god, different facets of the same beautiful jewel

you are absolutely right, I have seen god, glorious white light, language that is not my own, but that I knew, etc.

and I still live a life with very clinical spirituality.

so, even with that experience, it may not be possible, I got the experience for different reasons than you did though I suspect.

The best five would all be weird adventures and day trips with two highschool buddies...we would skip classes or sometimes the whole day and it would always roll out as a wild adventure...best times of my life and I dont even know where those guys are at the moment

The five worst are all family funerals....I have a real hard time dealing with loss

.....and I thought the alias list would have been way more names

quite possibly, but dont be so sure.

it may simply be endogenous versus exogenous, as some recent scientific studies indicate there may be a very real biochemical cause behind religious experiences.

the theologies we each adopt may be different, but mystical experiences sound very similar regardless of the means of initiating them.

and to be fair, i have also had some very, very moving spiritual experiences without an exogenous trigger, as well as witnessed phenomena in the material world which for lack of a better word i would deem "miracles"

also, as i'm sure you may be aware, certain types of activity in the temporal lobe seem to occasionally trigger visions of a spiritual nature and depth, and several prophets are thought to have found revelation through this window....but you would know better than i whether this is a possibility in your situation, given timing and all that. this specific feature is what makes the temporal lobe specific variety so interesting to me.

For five moments, well, they are very personal so don't think I'm going to share...They were things that changed my life, one in which happened when I was young and it would be the thing that changed the way I think about my future and my outlook on it, that probably made no sense but, meh, what can ya' do...

Goodbye friend, you shall be missed my onion/Seinfeld buddy..:(

    lmfao

    yeah, i have

extensively, though to a lesser extent than relayer

started growing my own magic mushrooms in my junior year of highschool, which i no longer do. my first drug was dxm.

among mushrooms, LSD, 2C-B, 2C-E, DPT, DXM, MDMA, LSA, salvia divinorum, AL-LAD and AMT (poor results with both), san pedro cactus (mescalin) and others, i've had well over 100 psychedelic trips.

there have been times i stuck mostly to the marijuana and psychedelics forum and rarely, if ever, stuck my head in here. but these days i'm mostly a random thoughts kinda guy :)

on top of the proper psychedelics, theres been a lot of nitrous oxide, alcohol, and cannabis (sometimes psychedelic in nature)

also the mdma is an empathogen, sometimes a bit psychedelic sometimes not.

then there are various opiates, muscle relaxers, and other sedatives i've used.

cocaine (which i dont usually enjoy) and far more than that coca tea or coca extract (both of which i usually prefer to cocain), kanna, kava, all varieties of tobacco except chewing tobacco, and more that i'm sure i've forgotten.

    but yeah.

    i've done drugs before.:cheers2:

2C-E is one of my favorite phenethylamines, such an intensley visual compound. Definitley one of my stranger
    psychedelic experiments.
I've never had AL-LAD, ALD-52, or any of the LSD analouges, though Id assume because of how readily ALD-52
undergoes hydrolysis to LSD. I've always been interested though, especially since it's claimed that they
supposedly have most of the positive effects of the main tryptamine, minus the jittery, anxious tensing up
effects physically. I wonder about the emotional spectrum...
I've smoked salvia on several occaisions, but never had any noticeable effect, tasted horrible and the smoke
was very heavy on my lungs and throat, honestly I have no desire to repeat it regardless of any potential
    trip that might come about.
Psilocybin I believe will always reign supreme in my opinion, no drug has ever shown such a broad range of
effects on the mind, body and soul. Every time is a totally new awkard and revealing experience, and my
upmost respect has been earned by the little magic mushrooms. Mescaline and LSD are tied for second, though
I prefer LSD only for the fact that there is little to nausea produced, except on 10+ doses, or redosing
throughout the early morning and lingering into the next evening.
Of course, I have yet to try N,N-dimethyltryptamine smoked/injected, and cant wait until the day. Though I
have a feeling that psilocybin is more or less God's way of delivering an orally active form of DMT, but
with an added touch of an intense blessing since you are given 4+ hours to explore the contact with a
'presence' as well as the exposed hallways of the mind which are fleeting and overwhelming during smoked
sessions, according to what I've heard.
