I disagree with those who say 2c-e is similar to LSD though. It's similar to LSD in the same way that MDMA and DPT is similar to LSD, in the way that all psychedelics are similar. But they are not actually "similar" ime

Yeah, he injected what they estimated to be 320 mgs. He died of respiratory arrest.

i am suspicious by nature and curious too. Listed as being from something called The Journal. Today we think Wall Street Journal. i'm not sure what it was in 1977. Google yields interesting hits including "The Journal: News of the Churches of God . . . but that is neither here nor there. i just do not understand the nature or motivation of the source The Journal as i do not recognize it as a scientific publication . . .

Even this article states that the high levels of LSD detected in the guy's liver were the suspected cause of death. It also clearly states that LD50's for humans on LSD can only be interpolated. Also, in direct quote, "Metabolic studies of LSD in humans are incomplete and no direct evidence concerning lethal doses exists."

Not that i'm recommending LSD doses that test the liver limits. It is not necessary. In my humble and very limited experience, the LSD today is weak compared to the past and if one authentically takes about 300-400 mcg, taking any more is what they used to call, " . . . . like bringing coals to Newcastle."

Agreed. The only thing truly "similar" to LSD i have encountered to date was 12 mgs of 5-meo-MIPT (Molly).

Point taken. I'm not saying it is a pissing contest but it sounds like 2c-e is rough on porkstock at relatively low doses, so I'm confused why he doesn't explore other chemicals. I just want him to try a "hero dose" of something, that's all haha. Maybe he has and I haven't been paying attention, but it seems like I always come across people telling him to increase dose.

I wish I could give you more, but as that is the only case on record, that is about all there is. Given the information acquired from the case of the 8 people who overdosed;

In a recent clinical series, 3 of 8 patients with
massive LSD overdose underwent respiratory
arrest requiring intubation and ventilatory assistance.

I don't think it was a far stretch to assume that this guy died from the same thing, as those 3 would have if they were not in the hospital already.

Back to Shulgin's dosing: remember that he's in an incomparable setting - a very far out house in the hills over San Francisco, with a woman totally supportive, with friends who are experienced trippers all able to go through it flying, and zero paranoia.

A few threads away I recommended Amazing Dope Tales by Stephen Gaskin. It's about what happens when high people are getting high in a high place.

I think a really good setting makes a difference and can amplify effects. At the same time, what some people on this forum are doing is another scene. Psychonauticus Salutamus! (With apologies to anyone who knows anything about Latin.)

Actually, Hail to Anyone who's tripping. It's not a small thing and not many people do it. It takes some fucking mental and physical stamina.

i really enjoy 2ce in doses 60-70mg, i have only done them one time orally below 25mg also and that wasn't enough imo.
