    Nope. 90's was GOLDEN. Of course there were great hip-hop songs before then, I love rappers delight by the sugarhill gang which came in '79. But the 90's WAS hip hop. Don't fight it.

    I know this isn't 90's, but I think most of Eminem's stuff is pretty good. If I had to list my favourite rappers, it would be;

    1) Tupac/Eminem (It's a tie)

    2) Kanye West (yes, I know, flame away...I just think his music is awesome. Great flow, great instrumentals, and great lyrics... The reason people don't like him is that he's a bit stuck up.)

    3) Jay Z

    4) Biggie Smalls

    This isn't a list of legends or anything, just who I like to listen to.

    thats one of the things about hiphop you would never get - there are so many different styles and shit. different ages and different people, the combinations are all relative to the situation....here's an example with J Dilla. Or Mos Def - freestyling is the most fundamentaly of combination experimentation

    all songs are important in their own way

    It's funny how you think you know the definition of gangsta rap, since 50 cent is the only rap artist you seem to know. You're like Rainman.
