Sadly, he died after a sudden stroke when I was 9, but my mother lived until she was 98.
Another unusual statistic is that I am replying to you from the house where my father was born. It is quite unusual for a family in London to own a house for 133 years.
Some of them seem to change hands after 133 days and the rented ones 133 hours.
However at least 4 of our neighbors were living here when I was born.

The trains which started in 1833 still run between pier and the marina today. The carriages are original, but they now use the Siemens drive system.
I only know all this, because I have been chatting on the phone to their operations manager for the last hour.
I am not quite sure who told who the most about the railway.
He had all the facts and pictures and I explained to him how they all work.
