Am I the only one looking forward to the possible melt that Tyrsons fatfuckfarmer neighbor might have? :)

Sorry to hear that. I don't know if that's your occupation but if it makes you feel any better.....I had a friend who was an EMT for years and he told me that CPR doesn't save the person over 95% of the time when it's the only thing keeping them alive.

We have a situation where a miser left himself landlocked at our creek property in N. C. My husband and his brother were going to buy the piece from him when the bought what we now own from another lady. The butthead raised his price and we left him stuck with it. There's no way for him to access it without using our property.

Once we saw him sitting on the shoulder of the road having lunch in his van. I guess he was trying to remember what his piece of landlocked property looks like.

My wife wanted to give me the "heads up" today that my daughter asked her if she could have a boyfriend. And so it begins. Her very protective older brothers will be thrilled that this stage has started (sarcasm....they won't be happy at all...not that we told her yes yet or anything but the stage begins now).

A boy asked my son if he could take my granddaughter (12) to the movies, with his parents chaperoning.

It was really cute, I hear. I think the boy almost passed out but he wanted to do what he believes is right.

The guy is not really a neighbor, his actual farm is about 5 miles away. He goes around looking for areas not being used and "sets up camp" or talks people into stuff and then never pays what he said he would. (such as the rental contract and rent for the lady in Germany and the previous owner here) He and his brother do a lot of their work at nightfall too, when nobody is likely to be watching out for them.

My direct next door neighbor has had a run in with FFFarmer about driving the tractor across his driveway and lawn. FFF apparently doesn't understand NO! This is no little tractor either, he has some of those $400,000 Deere/Case/Kubota/whatever deals... Big stuff. Next door neighbor is also adjacent to some of these fields I've mentioned and has no liking for the guy or his methods.

So glad I found those survey markers, now I can just point and say "My land" and any dispute ends right then.

If anyone cares to know....I didn't see my contractor until today so we discussed that ceiling this morning. It wasn't a battle but it was clear that I was unimpressed and I blamed him. I pick battles wisely because I don't want to waste my time and/or possible later advantages on fights I may not win. But he knew I was right and I must say that once he knew there was no out....he agreed with me and said they should have hung a laser but assumed it was all straight. He offered to tear it out and fix it but I told him we're too far in for that right now. We can fix it later. The schedule is more important than the imperfection at this point. At least he owned up to it. I actually like the guy a lot and don't want to be a dick to him. I respect that he owned the mistake.

On that note...the upstairs subfloors sqeaked all over and tonight I silenced that motherfucker. No more squeaks! It took a little experimentation with different length screws and angles but I figured it out and now it's how it should be. Success! :)

But again...why is this my job to make the floors not squeak? Whatever...it's done.

Same reason I've had to redo plumbing and at some point will have to re-roof part of my house.

You know...I thought about that earlier post from you today and decided you must be correct. It's a simple as that. It must be the new normal. The old school retired/semi-retired guys seem to have the right mentality. They take pride in what they do. I was trained by those kind of guys and maybe I'm just a little old school myself but I even notice it in my line of work. It's like sloppy is the norm and slightly better than sloppy is considered good. That's not right. But I will refrain from another rant tonight. These newer guys want to do all new construction and anything besides a perfect 90 degree angle is too complicated to figure out. Well...most old stuff isn't perfect and you have to figure it out. That's what intrigues me the most about doing it. There is a way to fix it but we just have to figure it out. Just like my floors...and now they're fixed...by me.

I know I'm not looking forward to roofing... I no longer have the strength for that. Not much else I can do about it though.

Roofing sucks. At the very least...you can go with a place that delivers to the roof with a shingle ladder so you don't have to roadie the bundles up. If you don't have to re-sheet....it might not be too bad.

Re-sheeting is what they fucked up the worst.... The section in question was 3/4 inch marine quality plywood that's sitting on joists that are 4 foot center to center. They removed that and put 7/16 chipboard up there. Guess what happened.

The fact of the matter is I paid good money and shouldn't have to deal with this at all for the rest of my life. Instead, they shorten my life by making me do it myself.

So it's basically 5/16ths off? I would try to discuss it but then just talk to a lawyer. It sounds like it's definitely fucked up. Legal fees may be an issue but you may be able to work them out.

I had the guy come out last year before the roof was one year old and pointed that out among several other concerns. They were going to come out and look before last fall, he said "they would never do that" and "they would have to tear into it to find out what's happening". He also said "If it wasn't level, it would be visible all along that area" I pointed out that it was visible all along that area but he said he couldn't see it... It's blatantly obvious unless you're blind. Late fall I called them back and have gotten no response. A blow off.

I'ma file a BBB complaint I guess... If they won't respond to me they had better respond to the BBB.

Odd thing... The company is owned by another FFF. I can't get away from these assholes.

I hate to say this but the BBB is a joke. You need legal representation.....now. Involve your insurance company. Money talks. You can back him into a corner but you have to figure out how to do it.
