I can't find everything I need to know on-line, that just turned up more questions than answers. Same questions I mentioned above... I was just wanting to verify if the fence needed to be 2 feet inside the property line, or 4 feet, or maybe on the line is okay. That search turned into all that other crap.

I just went over there and talked to the flooring guy. I told him that in September the deadline agreement was the end of the year. He said he told the contractor back then that there was no way the whole job would be done by then. I said "Having seen how all this was done....I could have done most of this work by myself (with the help of friends) in the evenings and got it done by the end of the year....and....if I would have known that it would go the way it's gone....I would have". Then I pointed to hundreds of feet of trim and molding stacked on the floor and told him that the entire pile was painted by hand in one evening.....because I'm over here every evening doing other peoples shit.

Some of it. I'm not paying for all the duct work I did or the entire electrical system that a friend and I installed (I did pay my friend). I'm not really keeping track of some of the other stuff because it's just shit that has to get done. I was given an overall price so if I expect to deduct for this or that, I'm sure I will be told it was a minimal cost anyway so it's not even worth debating at this point. But so far, I have done electrical, duct work, plumbing, framing, painting, drywall and various other tasks...all to one extent or another...just to get things done.

RF: Seems lately every time my auto insurance renews it's $10 higher... with no claims and no tickets. Insurance is a scam.

(not a continuation of earlier insurance rant, just opened my bill earlier and noticed this.)

I'd have to have insurance anyways... If my car got fucked up it's not like I can just buy another one.

I think mine is a little less than $100/month for full coverage on two cars and liability on one older car. I don't know what my business auto policy is but I don't want to think about that right now.

I spent my afternoon dealing with contractor stuff but also trying to get my staircase in order so I can rehab it. My son tore the carpet off a couple of days ago. There were a shitload of nails and staples. I spent all afternoon pulling staples. Maybe 2 million or so. BUT....I got every damn staple pulled out and...a few of them broke but not a single one broke to the point that I had to leave a part of it in the wood. I got every single one of them out!

That's kind of important because I may use a paint stripper (probably) but I may remove it all and plane it (probably not)....and if I do...I don't want metal in the wood. So that was a success. And...I realized the stairs are all very old Oak. I really want to keep them. I am doing some homework to figure out the best course of action. No hurry on the stairs at all. I can take all the time I need.
