My Vermeer salesman came out to the job site and gave us hats today. Funny....I just told my wife a few days ago that I needed a new hat. When I got home, there was a new hat sitting on my computer. I told her "Sorry, mama! My Vermeer guy came through faster!" I now have the first article of camouflage attire that I've ever owned. My wife said I look like a redneck now so just for that....I'm going to wear it all the time. :)

every once in a while I pick up a fitting and sand it, dont really need to do that with brazing either, but I actually like that part.. little bit tedious but It relaxing to some extent.

I said the above because when I got home an hour and 1/2 ago I turned on the cold water in the kitchen and got a burst of air... Somewhere in the attic/crawlspace is another issue asshole plumber caused and I'm not crawling up there tonight to check.

"transference leak" drop of water out = amount of air in... You never see streams of water or puddles on the floor but it fucks up plaster and timbers over time, causes mold, etc.

I really should have clouted that guy in the head with a pipewrench.....

Oh.... I've started locking my front gate. Total hassle and not all that great if I need to dial 911 for something but for now my land is off limits.

Or maybe it's the "Outer Limits".... I haven't decided.

You would have to see the layout of the house to get it, but in short the pipes in the slab are busted... Same reason there is no longer hot water heat in the floor and a boiler system. I removed that system. There was no way in hell I would be able to afford tearing up flooring, busting out the slab, re-plumbing everything and pouring a new slab while the house still stands. I'm converting from oil burning hot water heat to wood burning forced air.

My "attic" is in no way similar to your attic. Once completed my heater ducts will be up there as well. Until then the "attic/crawlspace" is the warmest space in the house when the furnace is running and is insulated so doesn't lose heat very quickly. If for some reason I can't be here to run the furnace for an extended period the house needs to be "shut down"... shut off the well and drain the pipes. There's no backup heating system. (gas/oil/whatever)

Only other option... Bulldoze an architectural gem and walk away.
