Damn.... Fixed the gas tank leak (temporary fix) and the switch on that chipper. Just turned a cart, three piles and two wheelbarrow loads of junk into a nice little pile of mulch. (cart is big) The switch wasn't broken, the wire was gone... Previous owner mush have "mulched" it with the flywheel at some point. Thing runs really good, actually great for what it is. That engine alone could sell for about $125-$150... 8HP Briggs and Stratton. The chipper? I donno. I paid $100 for the whole deal with a 30 day return... Works for me!

    Now, Fence time.

Yeah it is a great name... Start the company, royalties for the name would be rather cheap. ;)

Got the first post in... Taller than the rest of the wooden posts, I'll probably hang a gate on this one, and a sign of some sort. It's the "corner post". It's standing about 8 foot, 3 feet in the ground. Was like wrestling with half a telephone pole.

It's gonna be similar to this style of fencing, but most of the posts are bigger than this... and wider spaced. The posts I'm using are already old, the idea is to make it look like it's always been there.

Also cut down another dead, ready to burn, Elm and brought it down to the backyard.

    Now it's time for breakfast.

Some guys are using those for property maintenance stuff. Maybe yours doesn't have low enough gearing for that... I could use one, but I dig my old tractors to much to even consider it.

3 posts in the ground... I'm done with that for today. Hot shower time...

I'd like to have a 4X4 short bed Chevy or GMC... Somewhere around an '85, so that plow blade I have has some chance of hooking up to it. I could do a bunch of stuff with one of those.

    No moneys though.

I once had a 1985 1/2 ton Chevy with an electric hoist on the bed. It was my first truck for work. It wasn't really heavy duty enough but we still built a box for it and pulled a lighter chipper behind it. It didn't take too long to wear out that little hoist from dumping chips. Then we had to unload them by hand. I've shoveled more chips than I ever care to remember.

Kind of a funny story....as the hoist was wearing out, it would lift less and less. One day when the hoist would only go up less than half way....another guy and I were unloading the 2nd or 3rd load of the day...sweating our asses off moving chips (they generate a lot of heat...especially in a confined place and in the summer). He finally wipes the sweat from his face and says "Congratulaaaaations, wood chips! Come on down! You're the next contestant on Get The Fuck Out Of The Truck!!" That dude cracked me up all the time. Maybe ya had to be there. :)
