Yesterday's rain... I'm sure made mud out of that field. It was wet yesterday... gonna be a sticky mess today. Front yard looks amazing this time of year, the mass planting of Daffodils is going crazy, Bluebells are starting, Magnolia and Forsythia are in bloom... Redbud is just starting to think about it. Gonna try to get a photo or two later.

Gotta see if I can get the parts I need for the mower locally... I hate waiting on eBay for stuff like this even though it's cheaper. Some things it's okay to wait on, but this stuff I really need TODAY!

Sorry for shouting so early in the day... [IMG]

Besides parts I gotta get gasoline, I've already burned through 10 gallons of tractor/mower/chipper/etc. gas this month. Probably gonna need another ten... (neat to add "chipper" to that list, what a score!) I haven't even fired up the weed eaters yet this year. Push mower needs a tune up too. Waiting for the deck on that to disintegrate... I think the paint is the only thing holding it together. Hell, I've had it for ten years and bought it used. Motor still starts on the second pull as it always has... Nice little Briggs on that unit.

I wish I knew where these guys that part out yard equipment on eBay get their stuff... I'd be all over that. In many instances I wish those machines wouldn't be torn down for parts, I need the whole thing. The neighbor that gave me the Ranch King last year knows I'm looking for stuff like that and the local ReStore lady has my name and number if anything comes in that might not be salable, to accept it anyways and give me a call... Parts is parts. Still need to get that Ranch King going... It's sitting in the driveway waiting to get added to the repair lineup. Wood Rat is taking up space with it's broken throttle... dammit!

You know... I really need a welder, but that's another story.

I also need some "Green Goddess" :flyhigh: but that's another issue.

    Oh yeah.... Mornin'

    Mornin'!

Baseballed like crazy on with the grandson on Saturday and Sunday. It was a two day tournament. They did well. The championship game was rained-out so runs allowed throughout the tournament were tallied and they came in as Runner Up. They all got a little championship ring so it was cool. Only the coach was butt-hurt.

Yesterday...I cooked pet food and finished drying out everything that got soaked on Sunday.

    That's it. That's all I got.

Tractor supply had the drive belts I needed... MTD branded as that does make a difference for some odd reason. Got plugs and some other misc. stuff also. I'm good.

    I'm also broke...

mtd usually use off size belts like 42.8 or 35.5 instead of keeping it to equal inches

lots of times closest inch works fine...if not i just use washers to raise the engine a bit ..i prefer gates green belts power rated line

I think the MTD belts are a different compound too... They just seem to work. The mower is from 1998 and I'm replacing the original drive belts... I should be good for awhile. The deck belt gets more abuse and I now have a spare for that.

The Wood Rat has one of those Gates Green, in this case it works too well... With the clutch fully pushed in it doesn't slip like it should.

mtd uses raw edge...grabs a bit better than full kevlar skin but wears out a lot faster

i had one customers blower last year just wouldnt take any aftermarket belt

had to go buy the factory one husqvarna (ayp) for it to work...never did figure out the reason ...i have 3 other exact same blowers as his that work just fine with gates

wish i had a yard to be sore from working in. a long way from anything resembling a city.

i'm not a god and i have no wish to be worshiped. but i would like to live in a world, people weren't always trying to see how much screwing it up, they can get away with.

excitement doesn't interest me in the least. craftsmanship does. especially the complexity of little tiny things, those fascinate me absolutely.

went for a drive out to the lake i like to swim in

water is at least 8 feet below summer level...was able to to pick up a lot of glass pieces and throw them on the ice in deeper area so no one ever steps on them

couldnt find that damn fishing line that scared the shit out of me twice...tried pulling it out once but it cut into my finger...maybe it finally rotted away

yeah but the natural resources guys also can control it by removing 8 feet of flood gate at the dam to minimize spring flooding

i took a picture of the dam a few years ago

wont be able to get there for another month or so...cant use their road and the trails will have snow/ice for another month due to the trees and shade
