Damn grass is growing too fast for these old bones.... Still not done with the mower and I'm gonna need it.

 

Two somewhat related points.....

Yesterday evening, I saw a friend at the store. We were both buying beer and he said he was burning leaves last night. I told him I was done with that shit. I have the vacuum so I was going home to work on leaves that way. I thought about it for a second and said "Remember when we used to tear it up on Friday nights? Now we're like...ok...got my beer....I'm going home and hammering some leaves tonight!!"

Point #2....I have no idea what's up with this whole waking up at 6 am on the weekends for a while now. I suppose I may get older and end up being one of those old dudes out working in the yard at 6:30 am for absolutely no fucking reason at all except for having nothing else to do. I have some things to do and I'm ready to go do them but nothing is open yet. And it's raining so...no leaf action today. I guess I'll go outside and listen to the birds.

 

hey....i'm one of those guys in the yard at 630 am on many days.......it is an awesome time of day to be outside.....it is enjoyable despite having to chore......you'll see

Yep...I've been weeding, mulching, planting...spring work. I love it, but my joints and bones are screaming at me.

 

Yeah...well...I don't mind being outside if I have to be awake but I'm not super motivated to start doing chores out here. More like...drink coffee, mess around on my computer, listen to the birds and watch the furry dudes. But now I have to get moving. Finally going to put some new tires on my Jeep this morning. I love new tires, hate paying for them. Might as well get some breakfast while I'm waiting...assuming they get to it pretty quickly. It was scheduled for this morning.

 

within seconds of waking up I stumble to the door and let my dog out

stumble to kitchen and put coffee on....back outside for fast[hopefully] pee off the porch...

back inside to roll morning medicine and get coffee....fast puff while I say good morning here

look around and access situation....chore from there...

 

So similar...but feed cat instead of dog. And I can't pee off the porch, have to go in the grass, lol...and I love peeing outside.

 

Except for the morning medicine I'm about the same... Just legalize it already, dammit! (of course then I will need to have the greenhouse built. fuckall, it never stops)



Anyways... Drive belts and system is all back together on the mower. That system is a total pain in the ass... and arms, neck back. I hurt places I didn't even know I had. Non-Universal seat is mounted. Putting engine shrouds back in place now and then gas tank and new lines/filter. Then air filter box, new filter will have to be next month like the blades. Exhaust is last. Still threatening to install duals. Stock system sucks.

After all that I still need to do the plugs, oil change and lube.



I can hear everybody else mowing already...

 

used mower for first time this year today

no grass though...i just use it to pick up leaves...still ice under the bottom of them


also made a heck of a mess on everybodys cars when i used the mower to sweep the sand from driveway ha

 

Grass is growing like crazy here, and rain tomorrow and the next day. It doesn't take long for it to get huge.

 

I just put my 3 big potted plants outside to hang out there for the season.......I rather them be outside....taking care of them inside this house is a chore...watering them and they spill out water from the bottoms of their planters......but outside is much easier.....

It is very hot outside today like summer.

 

took plow off my truck today and moved it to the side

my goodness...every pretty lady in Kingston was out walking towards me downtown today.....

I bought the dog a pound of ground organs in a brick,frozen for 2 dollars.....also a kickass marrow bone all from the grass fed butcher

 

Town clock is wrong that signals every hours with a bell sounding song.....it did that 1 minute before 6 pm here according to computer screen.

 

Still more to do, but the mower runs and drives, has all 7 gears. No deck yet, or hood, needs a carb adjustment... grease... whatever. But hey, it's getting there. Need to find carb adjustment procedure online somewhere. Maybe it's in the engine manual I got....


Odd thing, seemed faster with that old belt. It's not slipping or anything, probably my imagination. Driving around with no hood makes me feel like all these hicks around here that seem to have lost their tractor hood somewhere... What the hell is up with that?


New seat is bytchin'...

 

Just sat down for coffee. This is the first break I've had today. I'm not use to this.

Hubby was going to work on my bracing my desk but he is in the bed. He says he's chilling but I'm pretty sure it's seizures.

I'll work around indoors this evening. It's wet and soggy outdoors with lots more rain expected tomorrow.

At some point in the night my daughter will call me to go across town and pick her up at the transit station. She and her girl went to the 420 Festival.

Nope. Hubby came moaning and staggering about halfway up the hall and fell against the wall. He is sweating, shaking, fever is still 102F even though he is sweating now.

Oy vey. His blood sugar is low too.

 

Dammit..... Non adjustable carb...

My stomach hurts for 2 days now....
gonna go lay down.
