Inis Beag, an island off the coast of Ireland is one of the most sexually repressed cultures in the world. Sex is looked upon as a necessary evil for reproduction. Even married couples have sex fully clothed aside from exposing the necessary southern bits, and only missionary is acceptable. Any sort of premarital affection is prohibited.

No wonder they have a drinking problem... I would too!

The lowest land point on Earth is the shore of the Dead Sea, between Israel and Jordan.
The Dead Sea is also the saltiest sea on Earth.

In Cambodia, there's a combined lake and river system called the Tonle Sap. It meets the Mekong in Phnom Penh and then flows out into the South China Sea. But that's only most of the year.

In monsoon season, so much water is flowing through the Mekong, that when it meets the Tonle Sap, it pushes the water back upstream, back into the lake, which triples in size!! It's the only major river in the world that does this I believe.

Every year the Cambodians build boats and wait for the monsoon to celebrate the flowing back to the Tonle Sap with boat festival.
