yea same here. Im also a freelance designer so ya know *shrug* its just what i do i love symbolism and the idea that the human race needs images and icons to relate thoughts and feelings to, so a project like this is cooool for me

yeah i totally dig them all so far. you guys are awsome for helpin me out!

im thinking that black and white is probably the way i will go since it is a tattoo.

also i've been told that a lot of detail is hard/not doable for body art due to the ink / skin thing unfortunately.

I like the tribalistic look to it too - but im really open to whatever. If you guys say you'll draw more then I want to see!!!!! heheh

Let me tell you what i've come to know the ohm to represent. (and i've seen it spelled Aum, Om, Ohm)

Ohm is the all encompassing sound. It is the sound of the universe. It represents the unifying vibration of all things. it is the representation of the Supreme Being. The past, present and the future are all included in this one sound.

of the last two posts i like come_do_drawrings number 1 and Fleassy's number 2 the most so far. I think cuz they have that tribalistic feel. I dig the lotus flower, but i dont want it to be larger than the ohm.

The lotus flower to me represents chakra's, specifically the crown chakra which can be visualized as a thousand petal lotus flower blossoming. the lotus is rich with metaphoric value as it is a beautiful flower that grows out of mud. similar to the rose that grew from the concrete metaphor from 2 pac. it represents that beauty can come from all things, even icky mud. (although personally i like how mud feels squished between my toes).



so yeah if you are inspired to continue drawing please do. the more options i have the better. I don't want to contain or control to much of the process, i want to see what naturally comes from you all... and thanks again! this is fun!

here are a few more of mine. my fave has the lotus behind it
Theres one in the centre of a lotus flower as you look down upon it.
One infront of a lotus (my fave)
One which is the drop shaddow of the Aum (but it didnt turn out too good)
and one which is just a tribal aum.

 

there are a couple...
its suppose to be in black, but i couldn't find a decent black pen so.. just imagen it.. hehe.. and they could be just pen outline or filled it.. not as advantageous as other peopels but hey....

maybe doodle again a bit later.. but yeh.. how about them?

 

Actually Dandelion Blood, that last one would be a great shape for someone that wanted it on the back of their neck. Y'all rawk~!

come_do_drawings have you tried converting your origional blue one into black with parhaps some white ink used in it where you have the green? If you ccant do that i could do it in illustrator for you and see how it looks.

Oh and Yogi just so you know what you said (or someone did) about not too much details... generally detail is ok but you have to be carefull of lines that are too close together because ink will run a little bit and if the lines are too close together they might merge slightly looking a little less neat. However detail in colouring is fine if you have a good tatooist

Fleassy is right about the ink. You can have aamazing shading if you have a good tattoo artist. The one near me has done some extremely amazing ones that look like someone took a fine artist brush and painted it on, very subtle stuff.

 

...they aren't very good but ...oh well
