a violent hippie?

Violence, and being "non-pacifist" are different.
Im not big on violence, but i am quick to defend, physically if need be.

People always call me "hippy" because i have a big beard, long hair,
and I really natural. But that is because I am just natural.

But it always makes me laugh because im not really a "hippy" if you
go by the leftist pacifist tree hugger stereotype.

I do consider myself "hip" of course lol, but im just an openminded
natural creative guy, who gets called a hippy.
But i guess i would be an "angry hippy" lol.

or not, maybe im just me.

 

defending my friends...honor...pride...And the like....I suppose good is a very relative term though...

 

i just want to ask, why is it that younger people have to bring up the "poseur" thing, just let whoever be whatever. poseur can be a clique too, so what would that make you?

i'm not trying to be anything i'm not..it was just the fact that he seems like he's trying to be someone that he obviously isnt so that he can fit into a certain group of people. i think it's stupid that's all.

anyway it turns out he isnt trying to be a 'hippy' so it doesnt matter anyway..


..and no i dont think i'm a hippy and no i'm not setting any particular boundaries for 'hippiedom' other than what the media has already displayed.

people get angry, if you get angry you want to release your anger on something or someone..hence violence.

bottling up anger isnt good and probably does more damage to you in the long term than violence..unless you get paralysed or something then yeah you're screwed.

 

Yeah well i hate anger too then. Okay i gess there is always gonna be anger which means violence...but it sucks...

i used to be like that, always trying to find someone whos a poseur so i would feel better about myself because i thought i wasnt a poseur. but if youve seen SLC Punk! (a movie) itll give you a big kick in the ass, and wake you up to realize about the poseur thing. that no matter what you do you will always be a poseur of something, in order to succeed. you have to see it.

luckily i saw this when i was around 14 turnin 15, so i realized it earlier.
and ive been hanging out with 20+ yr old people since ive been 15.. its all a matter of lots of things. just watch that movie SLC Punk!

 

It makes it easier for them to think they are understanding the world, by catagorising it (and, it's not just a habit of the young, unfortunately).

what's wrong with telling people to be themselves? is this just some way of making yourself feel better by unleashing confusing lectures upon little kids?

 

i call someone a poser once in my life and i get a fucking lecture from some person who doesnt even know me.

 

Shes saying that nomatter whatyou do you will always be called a poser of something, so the best thing to do is ignore it and do your own thing regardless of what people lable you.

how about if you dressed and copied someone down to the last detail and repressed all your own thoughts and feelings? would you still be you? even if one of your traits (copying people) was showing, all the other things about you would have been repressed. or is that just another one of your personality traits too
