More on evo-psych stuff: Show me a mammal raised entirely apart from any cultural elements and I'll show you a corpse. Mammals learn from their parents, other family members how to act. The idea that looking at other primates to see how humans would act without society is ridiculous. All primates live in societies. And they have variable cultural elements over regions, even within a species. It does seem to be true that men are physically and emotionally more likely to have some advantage in hunting. The difference between the sexes is smaller then the deviation within each sex though. Also, in many primitive cultures, men do much of the hunting, while women do most of the simple farming and the sexes share in the crafting. Question: which of these has the -least- in common with most modern occupations? (Hint: it's hunting.) Besides all that, within our modern social structure, the role relegated to women is god-awful. It's lonely and isolating, it's devoid of much in the way of meaning and fulfillment, it creates dependency and erodes confidence. The classic gender roles are tyrannical and broken and need to be ditched.
I could have swore we were talking about ancient cultures when hunting gathering was the way of life... Just what 'traditions' do you think they were falling back on? They each did what they had to to help ensure their mutual survival. Those that didn't, didn't survive to pass on anything. There is evidence that you are correct when talking about neanderthals that there was a definite separation between the genders and the roles they filled. Modern humans though are not built like that. If you think I am wrong about this, I will be more then glad to set up some purely physical competitions between you and women who will demonstrate the fallacies in your argument.
Ancient cultures were as diverse as we are today and while some were hunter-gathers there were others who built permanent settlements which became the standard model even today. Without of course the human sacrifices, head shrinking, and bloodletting H
You know in pre civilization it was in fact the women who were the "breadwinners". Yes men hunted, and meat was a valuable and nutritious add on to a primitive diet, but a kill wasn't guaranteed and if it was had to be split between numerous people. It's generally believed most of our sustenance was in fruit, vegetables, roots, ect collected by the women out foraging. Remember the phrase is hunter-gatherer, though I guess maybe it'd be more correct to say gatherer-hunter. You know that, combined with the fact women were the center of social life even back then as the men were out hunting which is not an environment conducive to social interacting and women kept the kids with them, be it at camp or out foraging, on top of the fact pre civilization near universally around the world the deity worshiped was basically always the female mother deity. Women gave life hence the Earth and life giver deity were female. Then civilization happened and fucked everything up. Men made up for their ancient feelings of inadequacy by using their natural strength advantage and new found political and legal ideas to chain the woman to the house and making her near useless while turning their hunting skills on each other in what we now call warfare vs animals. To sum up, civilization is in fact the worst thing that ever happened to women.
Well just try doing all that has been suggested in this thread, and by the rip more than your head is going to hurt!!

Wanna get married? This off the bat means we have a better chance of staying together than the 55% of couples who don't.
are you serious? you took one of my sentences out of context and put bs words in my mouth. i said nothing about society? have another look or do you need me to spell it out for you. I stand by everything I've said. "how anyone can say we are born to be or do anything is ridiculous in my opinion. we are forced into our roles of society from that first breath we take. and our gender roles are constantly reinforced through-out life. i have no idea what i would be like if i hadn't had all that influence on me and neither do any of you people." lol im not going to continue talking about this with you as there is no point if you are going to make shit up. it's a pretty far stretch to assume that i was talking about going feral but whatever man you keep telling me what i was thinking.
