Ozzie is a brainless junkie. Sabbath based itself of shitty lyrics and terrible squeaky guitar slides.

Ozzies exagerated both of those.

 

Dio is good, and sabbath had their own style actually. Since Tony Iommi got his fingertips cut off and put things on them to play, it made them sound unique. Lots of people are brainless junkies, but ozzy is still fucking awesome and sabbath is one of the greatest bands ever.

 

Don't worry, you'll grow into liking real rock by the time you're 17ish.

I've always been a bit of a metal head, which is why I cannot honestly tell you that Sabbath are passable... but Ozzy is shit.

 

i do like real rock. ozzy is awesome. how can you say thats shit? the lyrics are good, gotta love his voice, and he had Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde as guitar players! thats fucking awesome!

 

Real Metal :

Early Metallica, Dream Theatre, Liquid Tension Experiment, Ac/Dc, Sepultura, Pantera, Megadeath, a bit of Slayer, Bruce Dickinson, some Iron Maiden, some Haloween, some Death, some Manowar, and then a few gothic metal bands (Nightwish, Stratovarious, and such)

Zakk Wylde is amazing... amazing... but Ozzy himself is not much of a composer now. The lyrics are weak (only song of content is "junkie"), his voice sounds like a loud screech, and he long ago "sold out" to MTV. He's a desgrace to metal.

Ozzy's lyrics aren't even comprehendable, he just kinda stumbles on stage and mumbles into a mic.

Dude, GWAR's playing in my hometown this weekend... I was thinking about traveling down to catch it... should be awesome.

 

you know, everyone thinks that, but he doesnt, and you can understand whats he saying, and his singing is clear. i dont think hes ever written a song, but hes still awesome.
