Seriously most people do use birth control and it fails, it tends to happen. $30 a month for birth control, or a dollar for a condom is a hell of a lot cheaper than $400-500 for an abortion, shit happens though.
so should we outlaw drinking again? because you know an underground scene for that would NEVER develop. how about we outlaw driving also? and privacy rights. can't be drinking in your homes now!
You're seriously comparing the choice to drink and drive vs human sexual drive. This is the definition of red herring.
I'm not being confrontational with you. I just thought I was clear the first time. Someone picking my brains about this isn't fun for me. My girlfriend got pregnant and we were young. She talked about abortion, or adoption. I wouldn't have it so I married her, and my son was born 7 months later. I've never regreted doing it either. Now I may have a Grandbaby coming. They're getting a test now.
No, I don't think the laws on those issues should be changed. No, you may not agree with my analogy, but it was not a deliberate attempt to change the subject or divert the argument (that's the definition of a red herring). And of course I don't think the two are on par, not at all. I was only pointing out that wanting to do something sometimes has an undesired result, however I don't think that justifies the course of action we are discussing. However, this is all losing site of the crux of the issue of the basic morality of the act itself. Something we can feel free to agree to disagree on.
It was not my intention to pick your brain, I wanted to explore the philosophical ramifications of your position. I didn't mean to upset you. PS: I respect what you did for your child. Good for you man.
BEFORE it starts. Do you celebrate your birthday each year, or your conception day, nine months earlier? If his mother had made a different choice, the Heisman Trophy would simply have gone to someone else. Anyone can be replaced. Honestly, and unfortunately, most people are born with close to zero potential.
I understand certain asian cultures do. But isn't a birthday the celebration of birth? Hence the name? This made me LOL
It's hard to judge someone for having an abortion until you've been a newly pregnant 15 year old girl waiting for her parents to notice and kick her out of the house.
