Wow I just listened to that new Younger Brother album . . . very, very nice! A lot more spacey and sensuous than I'm used to from psytrance, which is awesome! Almost bordered on ambient in some songs. Luscious.
ive never really got into Psytrance and techno, i enjoy the chemical brothers tho. Im of course open to new music so im gonna check the bands u mentioned. My favorite music tripping balls is underground hip hop. I would suggest Hieroglyphics "Third Eye Vision" and Jedi Mind Tricks "The Psycho Social Biological Electromagnatic Manipulation of Human Consciencesness." Its defintely really trippy shit and u might be into it. Ill give u some more suggestions if ur into it, some people arent tho were all differnt. thanks for the advice brethern.
Yea, the likes of Dan Deacon, who is a fucking Bach compared to other electronic I've heard. I dont know I mean, Im indifferent to Psytrance, most of what I've heard I've been able to replicate with my synthesizer the moment it came out of the box, without having any knowledge how to use it and teaching myself as I go. It's ok, but it's also extremely simple, both in creation and in form. But like every genre, there is the few gems and the bulk of crap, and it's all about finding those weirdos out there who breathe new life into strange concepts, like Deacon I mentioned above. The only reason it doesnt annoy me to no end like most music of this type, is that routing an oscilator through filters with multiple appegiators going produces effects very similar to the psychedelic audio distortion. Other than that, a big yawn in my opinon.
By the way if anyone cares, this is my favorite song by him, even though its only half the song (sorry couldnt find a full version) its the only electronic song that brough tears to my eyes : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_XGbfJtpzw And if you want to hear his philosophy on life and why his music is so purely insane : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnFZ4XTihAM

Another producer I love is Solar Fields. He put out an album in 2007 called earthshine thats psytrance style, heres a track off it. http://www.4shared.com/file/69727838/d3fa1f09/03-solar_fields_-_black_arrow-gem.html all of his other albums are ambient, if you like ambient, his album 'leaving home' is one of my favorites and.... while I'm on the subject, heres a track from leaving home http://www.4shared.com/file/6999400...-_Stereo_Hypnosis__Magnetosphere_Part_2_.html
psytrance contains some of the most complex musical algorithms and structure of any music coming out today. in structure, its more similar to classical music than most other genres of electronic music. not to say that there isn't good and bad psytrance being made, but most of it is very very complex in structure. the focus in dark-psy has been shifted more towards non-pitched sounds instead of melody, and on complex rhythmic and percussive patterns to shift the listener's consciousness. its an impressive marriage of sound synthesis, technology, and musical theory. whether its your cup of tea or not, you would still have to recognize such feats as cutting edge, musically.you obviously know nothing about production and sound engineering its one thing to have an opinion about music, but to make judgmental statements about the listener highlights your own weak-mindedness. it's no surprise you attribute this to others when it is clearly the quality you most despise in yourself. and what do you listen to? some shitty indy rock bands on your i-pod that you carry in your trendy messenger bag? go play some fucking guitar hero. edit : oh i see your list now. same old shit that everyone listens to. none of what you listen to is really that cutting edge or unique, your just another elitist tool fan
To me there is nothing better then Kindzadza or Cosmo during the peak of a solid acid trip. There is even the message in one of Kindzadza's tracks - "Listen to the message of the soul through the solid beat!". It is just so fast and complicated, rythms and beats all together that plenty of people can not accept it from the first try, you must understand how to listen to the message from soul through solid beat Just check the this site, there will be previews of the music: http://www.myspace.com/kindzadzamusic Awsome!!
I dont know Shapey, every time I hit the peak, it feels like time stops and this program starts up where everything's tubes are about to burst with life energy and I feel myself being pulled like by a magnet towards something, or everything? And right when it settles in and gets beyond uncomfortable, it lets me go and I go back to time and space again. In that moment, I dont think I've ever been able to even hear music, or anything outside of my heads buzzing for that matter. How are you and your family, by the way? God bless
We are fine, moving to Australia end of December. Its been hectic, selling everything, closing bank accounts, and all of that, so we are pretty busy. Its not easy to just change the continent. Anyway, thats way off the topic. I know what you are saying for the peak, I was also like that, but then I was introduced to psytrance, and if you dance through your peak, it gives you sooo much more energy, it flows so naturaly, specially if you stomp hard with your feet in the rythm of the base. You feel like you are shaking the whole world. Just give it a try, specially if you can find somewhere any whole album from Kindzadza or Cosmo. If you want I can send it to you through Pando. And when you enter the trip like that, whole trip got completely different dimension.
I sure would like to give it a try. I dont know, it feels like if I dont reach the peak where shit gets all fogged up completley, that I never notice and 'peak' effects, you know? Like when I ate 6, no noticeable peak, just 3-4 hours or so of being ripped apart. But then ate 3 of the same batch like a week or two later, and there it was, right about 4 hours after taking it, the three of us where outside smoking a cig and all of a sudden none of us could move, or talk, or anything, just sat there while our minds melted into one thing and the city of Philadelphia seemed like it was on neon fire :cheers2:
Thats exactly what I am telling you, if you start dancing you open your mind, but that rythm is careing you and doesn't let the body to shut down, it automaticaly let the energy flow so naturaly and guides you through your trip, like you exist in many different dimensions and you are aware of all of them.
MAybe I'll try becoming a medium rather than a witness next time. Thanks for the advice Shapey, much respect over here :cheers2:
there are few psytrance artists who seem to "get it" and know how to move me rythmically into an intense dancefloor experience. Kindzaza is definately one of them. i also like. Artifakt, Kashyyk, Ocelot, Mortifer Foedus, Silent horror, Zero Blade,Azax syndrome, Mubali (compilation tracks are his best), Unwashed tomato, the Andychrist, Muscarin, savage scream. there are several of my favorite artists on the new compilation "in da blood"/ here you guys go : IN DA BLOOD V.A download: http://rapidshare.com/files/149653988/VA_-_In_Da_Blood-2008-MYCEL.rar Tracklist: 01.Savage Scream_The Pupil 02.Kindzadza vs Mubali_Normal Preashure 03.Galaxy Madness_Mad Synthesizer (cpu100%rmx) 04.Silent Horror_Distorted 05.Haunted Castle_Hologram 06.Furious vs Kraft_226.06.06 07.Already Maged_Pagan Autumn 08.CPC_Piter 25 09.Osom vs Matutero_Shadi Se Pehle
The conclusive link between psytrance and an acid trip for me is the synthesesia element of LSD's effects. If one were to 'see' psytrance, they'd know it's nothing short of spectacular. The way the mind processes and reproduces psytrance (especially dark psytrance) and the pictoral art on mental display is absolutely fantastic - and crystal clear. Dancing between sound waves and resonating your body with the music only makes these visual effects more define, bringing together highly complex forms of imagery; whether it's in the open eye ripples surrounding solid objects or quite simply out of this world visuals that exist behind closed eyelids.
