Too old to play video games? *laughs* Never!! This sterotype is dissolving daily as us first generation gamers(30-40) get older and keep playing. There are many reasons to give up video games but age isn't one of them.

I've slipped from my remission, myself and have finally found a unique mmorpg out there. Ahh...pixiated crack. Nothin' like it.

worst videogame addiction: my friend's addiction to diablo 2.

he lost his job in january. its now march and he doesnt have a job, he has spent the whole time playing diablo all night and waking up in the afternoon to resume.

    fucking pathetic

i like the game and other games too but theyre just for weak minds to play all the time.

haha ive never met a girl who was intooo videogames. i know them who play, but none who are obsessed or anything like the tonnes of guys including myself are or have been.

i love computer games but some people take it too far and its a waste of life.

men much more desire active power than women, who prefer passive power (security). men get a power trip from beating other players on the internet. its pretty basic

According to the Entertainment Software Association, 43 per cent of gamers are female.

We're out there and we're not just playing Sims. You'll generally find a higher % of women in MMORPGs and the ones that play more 'male oriented' games generally don't reveal their gender because the boys in those games tend to be really immature about it. (OMG r u a grl? SeXXorz pls ) I've played some hardcore PvP before and then told I couldn't possibly be female because females can't be that good at games like that. Then I kicked his ass again until he went crying home to his momma. *laughs*

I used to play MMORPG's when I had time. That was way back in the day, like Ultima Online back in the day. I HAVE to have the time to play these things, I get addicted, and I am not happy with a crappy character. And like the above poster said, i generally played as a male because any female character I had was constantly hounded, it was annoying.

Now I play FPS and console games. I have always played console games, my parents have a picture of me as a toddler playing atari with my dad. I like that console games can finally be played online, but I just don't think their mutliplayer is good enough yet, but it'll get there - plus I am spoiled from PC multiplayer games. I do enjoy being able to play online on the couch, though. Now that I live 1500 miles away from my dad we can still play games together.

What's bad is that I still have UO on my computer. lol

I jump on and macro every once in a while. I always played sphere though, i didn't want to pay to play.

Although my husband and I have been thinking about playing WoW.

WoW is mostly males around my age. It gets boring fast if your hardcore, but if your a real big Diablo 2 fan go for it.

I play Everquest 2, and there are a ton of girls on there. Whenever people reveal their ages on that game, I'm always the youngest.

I hate diablo 2...is there not much character PvP in WoW? I don't mind item collecting, but I like to kick a little ass now and again.

heh. I get addicted MMORPGs too. I have a rule never to play them during the school year. I play small pbems and forum posting games instead. Far less time invested and I'm able to be more creative anyway.

I have never really been addicted to video games, mostly because I suck at them and they get boring after awhile.

A couple of years ago i spent 70% of my 6 week school break (including sleep time) on warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. I'm a competetive guy and rankings consume me. Luckily my disc got scratched one day and it wouldn't work anymore. More recently, i got expelled from school and had a 6 month break where i did practically nothing except play WoW and eat and sleep. I'd roll out of bed and onto my computer chair, wasn't showering, wasn't eating properly, wouldn't even leave the house to buy my precious drugs. Thank god my account got banned at level 52. I started to play on my brothers account, but i couldn't bring myself to repeat all the same shit over again. Now i just play CS. I probably spend more than is healthy on CS as well, but i have a social life and i go to school and have a job as well. So i like to think i'm cured :)

I used to be addicted to UO back in the day in middle school. I got pretty successful back then in the game, but my RL( grades, social life) was suffering so my Dad deleted the account. Im glad he did.

I am tempted to try play MMORPG's again but I know that it would not get me anywhere. There is to much stuff I have to do in RL and time is precious. I am a mother now, so I couldnt raise a child, work, go to school, and play games....

I don't understand this either. My boyfriend plays computer games quite a bit, but I can't complain too much because all of my needs are being met at the moment and I have a lot of better things to do. Sometimes I watch him, but I really don't get it. I don't know about other females, but I really don't think my brain is wired to be able to play the games he plays. He loves WOW right now and I just don't get it, running around the woods killing things and picking up the "loot" and then all of these maps and potions and leagues and mailing stuff to your other characters and these little pet things that follow you around. To me it is stupid. But I found some cute little girly games (and by that I mean children’s games) on yahoo like cake mania and diner dash 2. LOL. And I used to play crash bandicoot a lot back in the day. Personally I'd rather sit down to a game of Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit myself. Sometimes I play the volleyball game for the Game Cube, but it is so cool, you can change the girl's bathing suits and their hair and facial features and everything. Oh yeah and play volleyball, but it is hard to figure out which buttons do what.

We did break up over his video games once, about 4 years ago, but he came to his senses after about two months of no sex and gave up the games for a while. Hehehe. He always says he will get me a WOW account, but I keep telling him I can't read the stupid maps and it is just plain boring to me. Actually, I wish he would just do his own thing and I go do mine. I mean I don't force him to play volleyball or run with me.

Yes well, its a good thing actually that it seems stupid to you, for most males... (that I know), all they talk about is gamecube, Xbox etc... or AOE III now, and for some like me personally, I know if I start playing that, i can't stop, and its like alcoholism, I just keep playing 8 hrs, 9 hrs... 10 hrs...until 4:00 am, get up at 10:00am and then start playing...I fell into the trap once, i tried giving my games to my friends but i always asked them back, so I had to actually one day break my cds all of them, get a garbage bag and throw them in and throw them out in the dumpster outside.
I am glad now though, I still play games on shockwave.com, miniclip.com etc, but thats for 10 mins in between breaks from studying, or when just relaxing etc.
