well, i don't get out much anyways, so my breaks consist of driving to the store to get the sunday paper. another good thing to do, is take a walk. bundle the baby up, put her in a stroller, walk to NOWHERE, and take some time getting back. I have no destination in mind except to feel the breeze, see some sun, and it always clears my head and relieves that cooped up feeling. And Joey loves it too, he's always very content just to soak up the sights. Makes him nap good too.
Sounds like a good thing to do, Gr8ful. Sometimes those little walks can be wonderful. And the baby really likes them. My kids would be straining to look out of the sling, so they could see what was going on. I also found the grocery store to be a good place. My kids would love the lights and the colored packages, and they would "talk" to the food. They really loved it. I used to put them in the sling facing outward, when they could hold up their heads, and they would "help" me shop. Mostly by grabbing at stuff and yelling at things.
