Ja. We've packed a "L" for large in guessing, box and it's pretty heavy. Just all the shirts and programmes and little die casts we've got. I'm expecting $200 lol and the stuff inside well it's probably not worth that but then again, all my memories are worth every cent too. So it's a done deal. :) it'll be cheaper than buying a new suitcase and then paying for extra luggage for the next half of trip. We pay by the bag from Atlanta to Texas, and from Texas to Colorado and back again + maybe a touch more for extra weight on the flights home. Also, I don't want to be lugging another suitcase around with me, it already looks ridiculous the amount of crap we have ended up buying. :D

My 12 pack #24 cooler bag. :D but that's been a great idea because fuck $7 a beer when I can buy 24 for $22 and bring them to the track each day.

The box is packed now and I estimate roughly 15-18 kg which estimated $86 on the post office site for 20lbs, if this is 18kg its 40lbs so yeah, probably double in price perhaps. I don't care anyway it is what it is. It's worth it. :)

All my good 1:24 diecasts are still with me and in my suitcase I already have a smaller suitcase that I can hand luggage. All 4 models it that perfectly and room for another even. They're just so much cheaper to buy here than they are on eBay with the shipping almost half price and we got two cars for a steal of $25 each when they're usually like $70. :)

This was also shipping from Asheville but I might ship it from Atlanta. Not sure if it's cheaper but yeah. :)

I do not think I'll be exploring Asheville at all. I like our hotel up in the mountains and it's 5pm and I'm not going to bother. I need sleep. And I need girl time. We were "downtown" at the post office and I wasn't impressed. You know, I guess I've been conditioned to fear certain areas and people but I don't like the homeless. I get really nervous and anxious. I bought a sticky tape at the post office and when I walked out I asked my gf to hand it to me because a guy standing on the road just looked off. I was going to shove that into his throat. How bad is that? The poor fellow probably just waiting for a bus or something and here I am jumping to a conclusion from a stereotype. I feel terrible about it, that he was probably just harmless and he doesn't even know I was ready to protect myself the moment he said something. :D -sigh- ah well, that's society for you and I realize I've literally been conditioned to fear what they tell me to be weary of.

No harm in being alert about your surroundings, Irmi. That's what keeps you safe.

Downtown Asheville has plenty of freaks, but not the scary kind. It doesn't have any dangerous, violent areas like the city bus station you found in Charlotte. Most of those weird guys just dress homeless because they think it looks cool. The crime rate is no higher than Roanoke.

I've spent a lot of time downtown. The cool, hip, fun area is along Patton Avenue from Pack Square to one block west of Battery Park, and all three blocks north of Patton Avenue on Broadway, North Lexington, and around the Haywood Park Hotel. I like the BB&T Bank parking deck and the city parking deck on Wall Street, both safe and convenient.

If anywhere in the Southeast is going to completely totally and absolutely accept an outspoken young German lesbian girl with piercings, it's going to be Asheville and New Orleans. New Orleans has a violent crime problem. Asheville does not.

I lived in Asheville for two years. That was several years ago, but it hasn't changed much. You can be anything you want there without problems, except a conservative, as long as you don't get into political arguments with the radicals who stage unofficial events at Battery Park Square. I just ignore them.
