Alanis Morrisette?

Funny you mention that,Goth...I saw a clip of her on one of those Star Search type shows...she was younger and she did have that Debbie Gibson image. Her voice was even different. Just a totally different person than she is portrayed to be now.

I did like Jagged Little Pill....I admit it...

 

Er, let's put it this way - she's done her damndest to buy out her old albums.

I can't find anything on the web about her album "Alanis" - released with HEAVY airplay and hype in Canada. In which she WAS Debbie Gibson. And a fat copy cat of one, too. We're not talking about "Star Search" we're talking about a record label signing her, recording a 80s teen queen album and releasing it, along with mallrat videos. Which I can find NO reference to online. INTERESTING.

Just as how Stompin' Tom is the poor man's Johnny Cash.

Yeah, uh-huh. It's even worse when you hear the actual song. It makes NKOTB sound like the Grateful Dead.

So imagine our derisive laughter when she shows up looking like some bike messenger from Seattle, in a panel van with patchouli singing about being underpaid and pretending to be this "alternative queen"

To quote people in my neighbourhood, "n---a, please."

"isnt it ironic, dont ya think..." i mean, come on...can we say sucky songs...

Well, according to her she really didn' t have to do much preparation work for the role, after all ---- you know, just go out there and "be yourself".

But then again, everybody knows my musical tastes suck to the extreme. ^_^
