They aren't supposed to call it refreshing because there have been lawsuits for kids thinking, "refreshing like how soda is refreshing."

and "sweet," like candy. they have to submit these to the prez of the us to make sure the labels are okay. that is just one of the requirements.

Ehh, I don't know. Personally I see this as overkill in the name of the overused "shield-the-innocent-children" mantra. I don't think the terms "refreshing" and "sweet" need be exclusively hooks for children. Heh, I mean, what are they supposed to advertise, "Tastes like yucky medicine"? Adults like sweet and refreshing things too.

Your going to have people doing stupid things all the time, fucked up or not. Prohibition doesn't work... for anything. Alcohol is good in moderation, fun in excess, and dangerous in rock star type excess.

Alcohol and drugs aren't a source of any problems they are just kinda a catalyst. Neither do the drugs or booze destroy anyones lifes, some people have addictive personalitys, but that doesn't make them any less responsible for the problems, they just need help.

There are risks and benifits inherent in everything, but i love liquor, and I'm not giving it up for some hippie utopia, and uh this 'god' also made arsneic, I'd rather have a forty... 'god' doesn't know whats best for you. But I'm sure 'he' would want you to be happy. If drinking rotten grain is fun (and oh, it is) I say go nuts.

 

Sounds pretty stupid to me. Ads can't say "refreshing" because kids might think that beer is refreshing (which it is)? And god forbid they call it sweet, even if the product itself does taste sweet?

 

Yeah, I think this whole, "sweet and refreshing" thing is a load of crap. Really, I don't think anyone, child or not, would see an ad like that and actually want some beer. Most domestic beer tastes like ass anyways.

The problem with alcohol is that people don't expect to become addicted, where as with heroin, all you hear is how it will get you hooked and kill you. I don't know many heroin addicts, but I'm pretty sure that they all know it'll kill them one day. People drink alcohol like water because they don't think it's harmful. People say it's harmful, but no one listens because they are long term consequences

the point i was trying to express was that IF marijuana was legalized, it would cause such a stirring and explosion of open minded-ness, that our society would not be able to survive it in the corrupt and unequal form that it is in now. That is why our government and elite press for it to remain illegal.

 

^^Look around man, everyone already smokes. Legalizing marijuana would kill off tons of textile and oil companies. There would'nt be some explosion of "open minded-ness", because most people who are close minded and stupid while sober are close minded and stupid while high. You would just have more open minded smokers smoking more weed.

 

Booze may not be the answer,but it helps you forget the question!heehee

dunno if ne one said this already, but they tried to dislaw alcohol... more peeps started drinking it then, underground! lol, kinda funny, really.

 

I think pot is definitely the lesser of 2 evils, here! It's the one I would choose, and recommend over the other.
