Alice in Wonderland is already a little off the orginal story "Through the Looking Glass"

I think people adapted well... ;)

Also, the story needed a bit more of a 'phychotic' touch, IMO It's supposed to be a story about a chaotic adventure... have you seen Alice in Wonderland? :toetap05:

I like what he did with Willy Wonka and with the characters, but I didn't like some of the goofy story changes. I own the movie though and generally like it. Just felt some of it was too irrelevant.

Agreed and it had that creepy TB feel for sure. I loved how they had one guy and replicated him for ALL oompa loompas. Thought that was done well.

Yes I've seen it. Plenty of times and it can be given a more psychotic touch without adding 5 plot twists that were never there to begin with. That's all I'm saying.

I think it would be interrsting for them to show a little background story, they will do that, the movie would be too short if they didn't.

ESPECIALLY the mad hatter and the hare. I'd like to know their story :p

what the hell? nobody tells me anything!

casting johnny depp for this is just way too cliche though.

It'd be better if Johny Depp wasn't in it. I really don't like that guy.

Otherwise, it seems pretty cool. I'll buy an illegal dvd when the movie hits the cinema.

OMG, I used the phrase 'hits the cinema' !

johnny depp is a very talented actor, he researches his characters very well and stays in character throughout the entire filming (just look at outtakes and gag reels) however, tim burton really uses him ALOT! cant say much about willy wonka , cus i didnt see it and i dont plan to anytime soon.

I liked the Wonka a lot but I haven't read the book nor seen the older version.

I've seen the Oompa Loompa songs from the older version, though and I prefer them to Burton's. Both are good but the old ones are just damn hilarious.

    Maybe some other time.

"Lost" is way too exciting right now for Gene Wilder silliness.

I am so happy right now, finding out about this movie! I love Tim Burton, but even more so, his wife. The always amazing Johnny Depp is a great bonus as well.
