Seriously, i doubt we have been visited by anything more than possibly micro cellular organism buried deep within meteorites.. The posibility is available for that to be one of the key ignitions that kicked started 'our' or other species evolution.

Am I the only person who doesn't believe in aliens? I definitely think they don't exist. And if they did exist, which they don't, I think we should stop wasting money going out there to find them or whatever reason people keep going out there.

I think we should resign ourselves to the fact that the vast billions of light years away any life will be, the possibility is remote that we will ever get visited. I don't believe 'Aliens' have or will ever visit us. and i don't believe one crashed into the desert in 1947..

I don't think 'we' spend a great deal of money looking for aliens.. just thats what gets put in the news .. 'The study of gravity on the reproductive germ cell of starch-grain' .. tends to make people swich off in droves. Imho the search for alien life is dwarfed by 'proper science' but still i take nothing from those that wish to spend their time looking/listening for them..

 

I didn't mean the money was spent specifically looking for aliens - I mean going into space. What's all that about? I think its just a complete waste. Couldn't a few people down here benefit from a few quid spent on saving their lives etc. instead?

It does probably boils down to 'why not' .. the funding of 'saving lives' far out weighs the space programe .. As others with that link articulate better than myself.. it is worth it .

Does it matter if there are any aliens? I guess statistically its probable that there are. However for all we know there maybe life in every other star system or every trillionth star system or we maybe the only ones we just dont know. If life turns up on Mars then I think we could assume its probably quite widespread, although we'd still only have a sample space of 2, which I doubt even a politician could attempt to justify as statistically useful.

We do however lack the ability to travel any real distance is space (we still struggle to get to space). When we can get to our neighbouring stars with little difficulty then its probably time to start worrying about other species. I doubt anything good can come out of us meeting other species, looking at how the developed countries treat the less developed ones. If that gap were increased many times, its questionable whether we would survive an encounter. They wont just appear out of the blue and give us all their tech, after all would we? If we do find aliens I think the best we can hope for is that they dont come down take all the natural resources and disappear again.

 

Nope. Not a communist. Just don't see the point in people wasting money travelling into space. I have no interest in it personally, though.

in some of my deeps meditations i have seen some pictures, that i belive is not from the earth, i good a good feeling from almost like its home. I have been told that some believe that we originally come from the stars somewhere and this good sense to me, because i have a feeling that we aren't alone, but who or there they are i can't tell.
So yes i belive in aliens, but they are not little green men from mars..

I wuz abducted by Aliens a few years back.I was walking home late one night when a strange circular light appeared above me & sucked me up into a vortex.
Two days later they dumped me in the river.
I wasn't sufficiently representative enough of the Human Race to be a good specimen for them.
I kept this a secret for a long time afterwards because it's kinda embarrasing.
They used the probe on me.
It's not nice when they do that.
