im kind of on the verge of bumming out myself .....i need to fire up a spliff , if i can find any leftover pot crumbs from lastnight .....
The only people who should ever be told to suck it up because it could be worse are whiny emo kids who are just sad and cut themselves because their music tells them to. Penny, you take all the time you need to cry and let everything out. You have EVERY reason in the world to be depressed, and you should have all the time in the world to heal. People are assholes and don't realize that it's a lot harder to get over heartbreak than it sounds. My suggestion would be, if everyone gets sick of hearing you vent, get a diary, write it all out. Get a weblog if you'd like to feel that you're actually venting to someone and not just paper. When my last ex dumped me, I was absolutely heartbroken (a huge crush of two years, then a short intense relationship that just ended out of the blue right after my grandpa died....he broke up with me the day after the funeral), and a lot of my friends just stopped talking to me. They were assholes and it really damaged our friendships. Just remember, your real friends will stick with you through it. And even if it seems like no one's listening...there's a lot of people here on HF who will lend you a crying shoulder. Me included, even though you really don't know me. Heartbreak's no fun to endure alone. And if you are uncomfortable with your therapist, like others have said, by all means, switch. You can't get help from someone you are uncomfortable with and you won't be able to build towards a tear-free future. Also, when you start school, join some clubs or organizations or do some activities to help get your mind on something else. Oftentimes people feel their best when they're helping others or building towards a common goal with a team. That's how I moved past my last heartbreak, I got involved in the high school's theatre department again and poured hours everyday into being the stage manager of a play we took all the way to the competition before state. It was very rewarding and helped a lot. Good luck!
yes heartbrake is rough and can cause depression, many have experienced it including me. But she's made a million of these threads now....atleast keep in it one thread.....
