ALL reality tv or as I prefer to call it (un)reality tv is JUNK.

I just hate reality tv. In fact, it's ruined television. My cable includes 5-6 channels of nothing but young people yelling and screaming at each other. Sure, there might be some occasional "Girls Gone Wild' type eye candy, but it's mainly just bitchy cat fights. And "Survivor"? Please. I'll give you an idea for "Survivor". Put a half-dozen people on an island for a week with a couple live chickens and a 5 gallon jug of water. Give them each a knife. Now that's "Survivor" for your ass.

 

While most of the reality shows are crap; there are a few that I enjoy including 'academy' which follows the life of LAPD academy cadets as they struggle through training to become COPS

For the most part I think you are right, but I think there are a few good ones. Man Vs, Wild is pretty kickass. Fear Tactics is one of the funniest shows on TV I think.

The problem is that the name of the genre is a complete fucking farse. The very fact that cameras are present deviates from reality. EVERYONE is going to ham it up for the cameras, especially those new jersey fuckers. I've been to New Jersey, okay? I knew right from the start that people from that state in particular, would ham it up. New Jersey in itself is a departure from reality to be honest with you.

Every other reality tv show deviates from reality in one way or another. There are even some I would directly accuse of being fake. Sons of guns, Pawn Stars, Chasing mummies, Ricks Restoration, and American Pickers. Flat-out, bull-shit I can see...right...through...it. Little ridiculous plot twists that make it dead obvious that it was planned. I know that none of them claim to be 'reality' but the sad part is some tards out there are convinced its how things really happen.

Reality tv is poison and its the reason celebrities are exploited, except that's not enough. They need to create fake celebrities so they can exploit them. Its a sad reality that reality tv even exists. Period. End of story.

 

They're cheap to make. top prize is an annuity that takes 40 years to pay out which the show buys dirt cheap. lets see: $40,000 for the season or on a good show where ONE actor/actress makes $900,000 per EPISODE!
Thats why theres tons of this garbage on TV. ROI is very good.
