Awareness is good. I've been telling people about the shit going on in the DRC for years. No one gives a shit unless its packaged in a flashy 30 minute professional video and you get a cool bracelet for caring and bragging rights.

 

Yea I think the same thing. There is more to the story. There is a reason that Kony has been doing this, and it's almost always about money and power. I think there is a lot more going on. He is probably being motivated by someone powerful, like NATO. Which is why nothing has been done to stop him.

The way I look at it, there has never been anything like this before. Not on this scale anyways. I'm not saying it's guaranteed to work, but who are you guys to bring down people who have nothing but good intentions? There's been so much Kony 2012 hate going around, and its really annoying. This stems from nothing else than solidarity for our brothers and sisters in africa. If you dont want to get in on it, fine, don't get in on it, but you don't have to shit on the whole parade.

I edited that post. I'm not doing this to ''join the masses''. It's obvious to you because you're cynical (I know, the cynical call themselves realistic and it's hard to know where to draw the line), but what if this DOES work? What if for the first time the whole world comes together and says we wont shut up until something is done about this? Will you get on the next campaign, and the one after that?

This is the era of the internet, people. It's not just hippies or punks who have conversations in the back of anarchist bookstores who know about these things. It's housewives, school teachers, lawyers - EVERYONE.

This could be the beginning of a new era, and I remain hopeful that it is.
