was it this one ? http://www.drugstore.com/qxp165998_...l/haircolor_paint_the_town___deep_red_044.htm I used something like this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GCSVN0?smid=A1FRT2DFB93P69&tag=dealt209608-20&linkCode=asn it was really "out there" the first day like bam but the 2nd day was better and it reminds me of your color, thats why i asked.. also a good one is http://www.harmondiscount.com/603084242634.html i got more comments on that one cause it turned my original red hair to a dark sexy like red with some brown dont ask me why i dye my hair red when im a natural red head lol
thank you prissbaby! i always use box colors, and they almost always turn out really awesome. i think box colors can be just as good as salon color if you do it well and are really particular about it. i think a lot of people don't time them right or don't put them in the hair well, and don't cover it. i always put a plastic grocery bag over my head and seal it with a headband while i'm waiting. it seems to help the color come out even and sparkly. and stacy, that's the exact one. nothing wrong with dying your hair a different shade of red as a redhead. i think it's not uncommon for people to look better with a slightly different shade of hair than their natural shade. i think i look MUCH better as a redhead than i ever did with that ugly brown shade that my dreads were before i dyed them.
Yeah the box is just as good as the salon imo. just dont like overdo it. I usually want about 5-6 months to dye it again because i dont want my hair to get dried up but you know why spend $$ on a color wheen the box is 6 dollars ya know. but the only con of it is that if you have pro highlights still in and you dye it from the box, the color wont cover the highlights completely. but I got my highlights done from a kit http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/album.php?albumid=1625&pictureid=14889 I was SO amazed on how it turned out, the pros wanted almost $100 for a full highllights my aunt paid 20 for the kit! Im glad im not the only one dying my hair a different shade then lol people gimme crap about it too
thanks, funk. yeah, stacy, i've done highlighting kits before too. they're way easy. i know there's a lot more color blending and stuff that goes on for salon colors, but i'm not all about that. the color in a box has gotten way better than it used to be. i'm actually thinking about doing a super blonde highlighting kit and then going back over that same hair with a bright purple manic panic shade. put some purple chunky peices in it. we'll see. i want my hair to be a little less damaged first before i do that.
purple haze is the best manic panic color! my bangs are blonde brown and purple right now. i look like a punk, ha.
wow, it looks gorgeous! so shiny! how the hell did you keep it so long and glossy after having dreads and how long did you have your dreads?
i had my dreads for a year and a half. i cut them off until about 3 or 4 inches from my head, and put tons of conditioner in it, and combed them out. it took two of us over 12 hours to do it. most of the ends were fried all to hell, and some of them are still fried, but manageable. i still have to use lots of frizz ease and regular hot oil moisturizing treatments.
it's wavy poofy crazyness. it's in between curly and straight and it's rediculously ugly if i don't do stuff to it. haha
