Matthew and Makno, I appreciate you guys' input. That play looks fun but I have to say I've never experienced something so obvious as oranges being blue. My hallucinations are very subtle. eg, seeing someone (who is there) say something to me which they have no memory of saying two seconds later. If there's just the two of you in the room, who's to say who's crazy? It's all about consensual reality. Democratic Sanity.
As a scientist I came up with a version of a hypothesis (borrowing heavily from Jung) which explains this particular phenomenon. It's all about the collective unconscious, your subconscious and your conscious self. And how they communicate with each other. You have to understand quantum pyhsics (not the maths, just the concepts about all things being true until observation causes one truth to collapse all the others) to understand my argument but it may well be that you understand something else, like the law (innocent until proven guilty), but it's really all about quantum physics.
This idea (of observation being vital to reality) means to me that we are not a group of minds floating in a universe, rather our observable universe is floating in our group of minds. Sometimes these minds don't agree about what's going on between them, I don't think this makes me insane, it just makes reality incongruent, right? It doesn't change the way I think, it just changes what I think about.
