Am I the Only Conservative Republican on this Site?

My husband is a conservative republican.

He helps prove my theory that they all like it in the butt.

 

I wish someone could explain to me ,what makes a person proud to be a republican.To be conservative.

I guess it all depends on what one's definition of "conservative" is. Seems like every politician I know about wants more government. So really the entire system today is SOCIALISTIC. I know the libs will scoff at such an idea, but it's true. There is no such thing as true conservatism anymore. It's been dead for a long time. Most of today's conservatives -- the "neo"conservatives -- are admittedly neo-Trotskyites. They come from a left wing -- not a right wing -- background. Like their left wing counterparts, they believe in a big centralized government. The only difference is that many of them believe in Straussian philosophy of perpetual war, and I am not so sure that many of the Democrats differ much in their stance, other than superficially, when they're addressing their flock.

I'm for a conservative government, yep...

^^ Exactly. I always liked the ideas of libertarians for a lot of issues, not all, concerning limited government. They are more conservative in this sense than the self-proclaimed conservative Republican party by a long shot.
