Sorry about the "fuck off" bit, im not changing it because my point remains the same, but it isnt personal, i think you're a very intelligent and friendly person.

 

Yeah i wasnt saying "fuck off" because i thought you were accusing me of bashing america. Im just sick of that retarted old argument "why do people come to America then?" It reflects nothing on international policy and can be applied to many a country that has made mistakes. It is too simple and ignores any really analysis of international politics by replacing said analysis with blind patriotism.

My language is out of line, i apologise.

 

The funny thing is - people DO come to America. We had a huge argument on this a while back in here, discussing the "rights" of illegal immigrants in America. We have this abundance of people stealing Social Security Numbers of dead people just so they can be a part of this couuntry. Most of my family are legal immigrants, however, they are immigrants none-the-less.

 

What amazes me is that several people have posted what I stated very early on in this thread: There are no innocent governments anymore. No one is more or less at fault for the state of the world today. Everyone is meddling in the affairs of other countries and it needs to stop. This is fact not opinion.

Some of you, while agreeing, are still defending Russia and bashing the US or vice versa and it displays nothing but hatred for someone else's country. If this is how you feel, the thread needs to be moved to Politics and you can bash away. There are enough wars going on over some dusty piece of earth. This isn't what RT is for or about. And it's not something that we, as alleged reasonable people should be doing.

I think politics is best discussed in RT any way, its less of a pissing contest here then in the politics forum.

 

I agree with you on that. There isn't a single government system that we can deem as "great." And I will be the first to say that the US government is totally twisted, however, I posted the "why do people come to America" bit because of those who bash this country. Look at America now, we are at war with Iraq with little hope of getting out anytime soon, but I don't go bashing the Iraqi or Afghani governments. The fact that the creator of this thread blatantly stated how they hate this country puts me on the defense to stand up for my country, no matter how twisted our government may be. America is a great country, and I'm sure Russia is too - the media of each of our countries bash the other creating tension between the citizens.

 

i still cant figure out how it concerns to american foreign policy and the influence of the crises upon other countries

though the thread was started for these very purposes, ppl somehow managed to turn the topic into what is closer for them

Like I said earlier...I didn't have a chance to read all 25 pages. And this creates a new foreign policy in the aspect that ALL OF AMERICAN IS FOREIGN. I'm only a first-generation over here. This thread was started because you dislike America...people took it how they wanted and said what they wanted. Take it or fucking leave it.
