I'm sorry- I meant not to say anything but just couldn't let this slide. I know this is something that is regurgitated in the U.S. media over and over--- but when was the last time you've seen Russian navy ships along the U.S. border? Well, there are U.S. navy ships in the Caspian Sea right now, for no reason. Putin has only responded to the continual expansion of the U.S. military into Eastern Europe since Clinton's invasion of the Balkans. However much you may disagree with Putin's internal policy (which is none of America's business), never have Putin's policies been expansionist like U.S. policies since the end of the Cold War; like you and Zoomie seem to believe. If you look at the actual positions of the U.S. military vis-a-vis the Russian military, as opposed to what is being said in the U.S. media--- I think you would agree with me that what the U.S. media keeps on saying is a simple case of reverse-psychology.
that's what i tried to tell : WE/DO/NOT/NEED/ANY/WARS neither cold nor hot we are a broken nation which is trying to find its feet, mend its economics, give the ppl hope and chances to fix their lives for some years our nation has been trying to fix contacts and friendly relationships with the countries all over the world a war is not beneficial for anyone, even for the evil russian politicians (who in fact are no more evil than all the rest) you cant disagree that it is not favourable for other superpowers to see russia finding its feet
again thank you for the new word "ludicrous" i wouldnt mind some new words with at least neutral connotation referring to me though....
People here talk about Putin as though he's the anti-Christ--- It's really laughable since Bush wasn't even elected by majority vote, and Putin has always enjoyed wild popular support in Russia.
I don't think Russia is an evil force or anything in the present day but then again my relatives had to flee Stalin in the middle of the night to stay alive and Russia's piss poor nuclear program has caused untold sickness and death throughout Asia and Europe I'd say both countries "cause trouble"
No shit??? sorry for bringing history in it, I know only stupid people pay attention to things that have happened in the past
This is like having a bus explode next to you and being pissed at the people in the bus because the glass from the windows of the bus cut you. Although the U.S. economy effects the world it also effects the U.S., I know that may be a radical concept, but its true
It says that you live in New York, Don't you go outside. To say Americans don't know poverty is insane, and it is much more widespread than you think. There has been atleast two times in my life when I have gone four or more days without food. I've had to sell everything I've owned so my children could eat, and I am not alone in this, this is the unseen side of America
All I'm saying is that you've responded with something that happened in the past, while neponiatka is talking about U.S. hegemony now. Not in 1953 and not pre-1989 either. People here are comparing Bush to Putin--- show me how many countries Putin has invaded compared to Bush? And even if you consider Chechnya and Georgia a foreign invasion--- these are bordering countries to Russia- border disputes. It's much different than going half-way across the globe to invade Iraq or Afghanistan. It's not fair to make Russia perpetually responsible for what happened during Stalin--- Those days are over, obviously- Russia is an ailing country now. And it doesn't need U.S. navy ships just hanging out in the Caspian Sea to make things worse. It's also not fair to pretend that whatever happens in Russia internally is just as bad as invading other countries.
Christ some of the posts here amaze me. People have been rightly criticising America in RT since the forums began. But the minute a Russian does it , and some of you comprehensively avoid any of the points raised , and start a "my country's better than yours , you're a xxxx tirade". Its clear America has engineered a disgusting , corrupt form of Capitalism to rip off and bully other nations. Then its got the nerve to criticise other countries that protect their citizens from genocide and victimisation. Well I'm glad the pendulum has started swinging again. With developing allies across the world and nukes pointing at America from Cuba , that'll concentrate some redneck minds .. So anyway , for those of u who had your homes repossessed cos the US banks went down , do u still applaud "good old Uncle Sam's Capitalism"? Or is only an American allowed to criticise America?
