Rat I was just wondering if you still believed the world is secretly controlled by a cabal of Lucifer worshipers.
Bal, Aside from the condescending remarks, post 16 was informative and a good post. Your attempt to discredit Pressed Rat didnt have anything to do with the topic and was skipped over.
not so much two right wings as two bought and sold by economic interests, one bragging about it and calling itself conservative, and the other trying to play it down and still not completely betray humanity in spite of it.
Rat, you're totally right about US war profiteers doing business with hitler, think about it..... he was throwing the money around, AND it was like a stimulus package for the struggling home market, and then the US bought the same shit, they played both sides against the middle and took everyone's money-corporations don't care about your ideology, as long as it's not environmentalist, if you have money. BUT, don't use the history channel as a source, their answer to everything is aliens, it's about the weakest excuse for "history" I've ever heard Yeah bal, that's a pretty open ad hominem attack there..... I skimmed, but rat seemed to give a pretty good rebuttal the first time around, so then you just repeated that..... You've been debating individual too much.
I believe the US has no economic left-wing party; the economic left would promote collective ownership of the means of production (socialism). Unions are the only vestige of anything economically left; their declining membership rate indicates to me, that the US is moving right. The economic right promotes private ownership of the means of production (capitalism), anti-unionism (anti-worker), unlimited trade (globalism), minimal government intervention in business (deregulation), reduced public expenditure on social services (austerity for the majority); Obama is on the economic right. He tosses a few socially left (not economic left) carrots as he feigns concern for gay issues, as he is at the same time, seeking their votes for reelection. The degree of authoritarianism is a different axis; the US government is authoritarian and economically right.
The President has maintained the same Security/War posture as the previous administration even to the level of retaining Defense secretary Leon Panetta. On economic policy, again, The President has retained the hyper-kenesian spending of previous administrations. Spending priorities may be diferent from Republicans but the Gvmt. borrowing continues apace.
