Super_grrl *heart* Kevin Spacey. This man is a genious..and the whole film is AMAZING. I think my favourite part is when he's working at the burger place and his wife pulls up with the Real Estate King... I love the look on Lester's face, it's priceless. For whatever reason, virtually EVERYTHING Kevin Spacey touches turns to gold, man, seriously. (Is there a thread about the Usual Suspects yet?)

I love it too, though I must admit I put off watching it for ages because the idea of a middle-aged guy in love with his daughter's school friend seems kinda weird and off-putting. As soon as I watched it, loved it. There is nothing about that film I don't like
i saw this film by accident the other day, and was really glad i did! it went from a film id only ever heard about a couple of times to one of my favourites. it was hard to watch the "most beautiful thing ive ever seen" bit about the shopping bag after seeing not another teen movie though...
I must say... somehow that is the only movie that I have ever been able to follow when watching for the first time after drinking a case of beer.
Anybody care to share what they think the symbolism is and stands for in the movie, for example and the most easily picked out.... the color red???? whats happening in the scene when you se this, what is the director trying to get across.... Mike...
Finally a true masterpiece won the academy award in 1999-2000, not some Hollywood schlepola....I agree with Insomniac devi, only in my case it would be my aunt, my mother was not like that at ALL.
I just watched it...and I'm in love with it. I really am. ^^I think the whole red thing is about passion...and regaining it even when it seems so lost from your life.

everything about this movie is awesome, but the thing that makes it soooo awesome is kevin spacey! he's a legend,uncredible actor, has uncredible charisma and l'm in love with that man and his movies since day one. 10 yrs ago seeing "the usual suspects", been wondering who the hell is this genious and ever since.... l looooove kevin spacey!
This is a first class film--it's the writing I admire most, cinematography and aesthetic qualities aside. The characters seem like they could be real people (most notably the stressed-out, superficial, unfaithful wife), and the emotional journey that Kevin Spacey embarks upon is so compelling.
