American Girl dolls

I never had an American girl doll. I still have all of my favorite dolls from my childhood though.

 

I know, Cate! I was so disappointed when I lost it.

 

my favourite barbie was hawaiian barbie. she was so tan and i loved her hula skirt and she came with this lip balm that smelt amazing.

 

You guys don't want to know what happened to all my sister and I's dolls and stuffed animals.

 

Never had a barbie, but I wanted one so bad! Everyone I knew had one. My parents thought she was too sexualized for children to play with.

 

omg. I just remembered something hilarious. When I was really young. My favourite toy ever, was a giant blow up ghost. His name was boo (Cause i was always original like that) and I used to sleep with him. He was like 5'5'' tall. Hahahahaha.

 

Eh I was a babysitter so it made sense to keep most of my stuff. Even now I pull out the toys when my friends bring their kids over.

When I was really young my parents couldn't really afford to buy me toys. My favorite toy was my dog WaWa.....I was trying to say chihuahua. :tongue:

 

btw. I was already oversexualized as a child wandering. hahaha. I had sexual fantasies about being dominated by captain hook before I knew what a sexual fantasy was. wow.

 

I think that's a good thing! And I don't think barbie is too sexual.

I would have kept mine, but Mom got a wild hair one day and took all of our dolls and stuffed animals and burned them in a trash bag.
She used to be (and still is) kind of gullible and she read somewhere that dolls (graven images) were like idols so dolls were evil.
We were getting kind of old for dolls then, so I guess it didn't really affect us that much, but I do miss some of my old stuffed animals.
I don't hold it against her because she was brainwashed. So was I.

She's more than made up for it in recent years though. Every holiday we get some kind of stuffed animal.

Every once in awhile I'm like: "Remember when you burned all our toys?" Lol. It's kind of funny.

 

my mom always gave my toys away when she needed gifts for other kids. I remember one year she gave me a barbie and some shit that came with it, it was big.. few days later she gave it away to the neighbors. didnt have a doll till I was 10 i think.. she used to cough and call for her mommy and her cheeks turned bright red cozy she had a fever apparently. Never really got into her. My childhood ended at 9.

 

omg thats sad. My kids are going to be so spoiled.

I'm going to do everything I can for my kid, if I ever decide to have one.

 

Thanks ya'll. It did suck, but Im having fun now so its okay. Im gonna spoil the shit outta my niece or nephew.
