 I have one bud ice, half gallon of evan williams, and four bottles of spiced captain morgan.

Oh yeah, and never eat meat loaf when you're drunk.

I have no idea why I only have one 12 oz. bottle of bud ice.

Oh I am drinking tonight...not sure about the sex because my g/f is being a whiny douchebag...god, how annoying is it to hear someone whine that they just turned 28 when you are 34, and to whine about her job, and her mom. I feel like slapping her right now but i wouldn't :D

I mean, just because its cold is not an excuse to be an asshole for days on end too

I am going to jerk off instead

Take a look at me, I proudly wear my hustler cap and T-shirt, especially at the lake. Oh how that makes some people angry.

I agree to that you don't have to have sex to be a complete person, it's a matter of personal choice, but I also have to say that people that are of legal age should be allowed to have sex as much as they want, and to view as much sexual content as they want as long as it's consentual without ridicule. There is nothing wrong with sexual conduct between people that are of age. Freedom of choice is part of being an American. Sex is also such a good release of tension. The human body is also like the most beautiful forms of what I call natural art. This is why I am against the right wing anti porn lobby.

Now The anti porn lobby is all about controling other peoples lives and putting a damper on our freedoms, which is something I will never support in this lifetime.

In a way I laugh at the anti porn lobby, because all the fuss they make over pornography is just advertisement for the porn industry. The bigger the deal they make out of it, the more new curious people will check into it and end up buying it to see just what the big deal is, just more support for the industry.

How did you come to that conclusion? How do you think the U.S. compares to Brazil or sub-saharan Africa in that respect?

I can respond to that personally, since I'm Brazilian.

Brazil has one of the largest media complexes in the world, it has soap operas, a rejuvenated movie industry that died in the 70s due to (you guessed it) the military dictatorship's zeal over depictions of sex acts. The music industry appears to me to use more nudity than here. Videos and such. Nudity on public television is commonplace after 10pm. Newstands in the main cities of Rio and Sao Paulo are laden with pornographic material that every kid can see. And I don't mean imported material. Prostitution is legal. I passed by an "explicit sex theater" --- meaning actual sex on stage --- almost everyday in the neighborhood in Rio I grew up in. A perfectly middle class neighborhood with private condominium high-rises. Women commonly ride the buses or go to the banks near the beach in a bikini and a towel around their hip. Nudity on the beach is also commonplace, and I'm not talking about a designated nudist beach (those exist as well).

An attractive person between the ages of 16 and older who doesn't have a partner is a complete anomaly. I remember my shock at going back on vacation to see all my cousins married up! lol. And here most my friends are struggling to find someone.

I read last year a report on Folha de Sao Paulo (the equivalent of the New York Times) that a sociological study found that brazilians have sex 4.5 times a week (or was it 4.5 sexual partners a year, now I forget) whereas the Univ. of Chicago's 1998 study (as published in the 2000 NYT Almanac) reveals that Americans have 2 sexual partners a year on average.

My personal experience is that it is much harder for me to have sex here in New York than in Brazil. I went for a year almost without having sex here, before going to Brazil on vacation and quickly finding myself two brazilian girlfriends, no problem.

Could it be that the American media portrays more sex than occurs in reality? Much like crime?

I do not see the Brazilian/ African people so controlled by sex within their society.

I base this off what I see on the televissssion, read, hear, and mostly out of personal traveling experience.

I do see your point, but are Brazilians so inclined to feel insecure because of sex? Ofcourse they have it, Brazil is known as a very sexual country...but do the feel the same pleasure to have it, as Americans? Latin cultures tend to be much more contolled by the Jesus than by sex in the first place.

The media here encourages more sex than the media anywhere else. I do not believe that it's exagerrating in the amount of sex though... go out on the streets.. people are doing it.

I think that is a stereotype. Brazil, it is my subjective experience, is a much less religious country than the U.S. Mexico might be a different story, that's why I would refrain from lumping Latin American countries in the same category.

I think much of the insecurity you see here has to do with the opposite of your initial statement. I don't think people here have enough sexual experience. And since sex is important to human beings, it makes them feel insecure about their personal qualities. Which is unfortunate.

Do Brazilians feel the same pleasure as Americans when having sex???????????? Well, they certainly feel enough pleasure to yell and scream and pull each other's hairs, and scratch each others skins, and give each other hickeys and orgasm! lol

Not enough? The average American has had lots and lots of sex by the age of 18.

It would be hilarious and terrible if Americans were to have even MORE sex.

    Don't Brazilians love the Jesus?

Don't Brazilians love Jesus? Isn't that too general a statement? Brazil is comprised of 200 million individuals, each with their own tendencies...

I'm a second-generation atheist, for example. But, of course, many Brazilians are religious.

How is sex viewed in your culture? We might be coming from different perspectives. As a Brazilian it seems to me Americans don't have enough sex. To you it may seem the opposite. Does that make sense?

    It makes perfect sense.

I have no culture, I've lived in too much damn diversity to have any cultural background.

I am my own moving cultural monument... watch me shine!

I believe in Jesus too, but i also have my own culture, and live in my own little world aside from the corrupt one that there is out there now trying to control everybody elses life for them. In my world freedom is absolute as long as the freedom I choose does no harm to anybody else, God gave man free will and he does not force anybody to do anything against there will, God is also forgiving, Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins, thats right our sins have already been paid for. and I personally see no harm in nudity and sex, it is a natural thing.

There are also many Brazilians into the porn industry, I have seen DVD's out. It is spreading there too.

That is a misconception. Porn has been around in Brazil before I was born, and Brazil has its own porn industry.

To the thread-starter, you say it's terrible and hilarious if Americans had more sex. Does two partners a year or sex twice a week seem too much for you?

Who are the 18 year-olds you know who have had too much sex (a subjective definition)?

Don't you think it might be misguided to base your opinions on what you hear, TV, read, or even short travelling experiences?

There are two issue at work:

    1) we don't agree on what is "too much" sex;

    2) you seem to think americans have more sex than they actually do;

A third issue actually is realizing that sex sells. Especially to people who wish they had more of it. So we should be careful about depictions in the media about a general population's behavior.
