Americans owe more on their student loans than on their credit cards

    If you think the loan sharks are bad, you should have seen my university when my parents split and I bailed on them and had to move half way across the country without ever paying tuition for a semester.
    All so they could build a fucking movie theater next to the English department for all the privileged on-campus resident students to enjoy.

    I took an education award from 2 years of working with AmeriCorps rather than taking out student loans.

    Incidentally, I used those education awards to fund a backpacking tour through Asia two months ago. Now I'm a part owner to a company which sells Chlorine free swimming pools to resorts throughout Cambodia and Vietnam.

    Don't ask me how the market works. :guitarist:

    That's like my old college. They call me every year asking for donations, while putting up like 5 new buildings and fancy new restaurants on campus.:rolleyes:

    I just checked last night. I still owe ~$17,000 on my student loan and I started with $24,000 7 years ago.
