lol, no. We aren't independant yet, so we don't have an independance day. Actually the reason for fireworks is pretty random - it's called Guy Fawkes day and it celebrates the foiling of the gunpowder plot - basically in the 1600s some men tried to blowup the British Parliament with gunpowder, with king james I inside...they were caught bfore this man called Guy Fawkes could light the fuse and ever since the 5th of november has been celebrated with bonfires where they burn a guy (in Britain). Eventually that spread to fireworks as well, and NZ just has the latter. So yeah, it's a pretty bizarre thing to celebrate, but ah well.

I can't wait though, I love fireworks. I miss the huge display in welly though, we are just having a small selection in our garden, but ah well.

LF holiday i probably labour weekend, because it's always in the middle of uni exams so it's just a wasted holiday.
