i have newt (newton when she is 'naughty') - a cat. she found me at my student digs, first year university, newcastle. after some complaints from other students that she was dirty (ironic i know) she was being taken to the pound, at which point i took her (thanks mam!). she now runs the house back in cumbria.
A bug just flew right into my eye Luckily I got the bastard before it broke into seperate pieces. Made me think though, I love animals but insects do creep me out a bit. I wonder why that is...Where do y'all stand on insects?
That's a good point, they are really interesting. Be awful if you were just casually observing and they turned on you though. It's just weird, every now and then as kid I would go catching bees with friends, happily have spiders run around my hand. Now though any kind of buzz near my ear makes me jump a mile!
I'm fine with most insects. Spiders are a big problem for me though, I'm a serious arachnophobe. If I see a spider over a certain size, I know where I'll be standing on it....
I'm exactly the same. I used to love catching grasshoppers and collecting snails. I had a subscription to a magazine called BUGS when I was about 7. Every fortnight you'd get a magazine and a glow-in-the-dark piece of a model. I managed to collect the entire tarantula and half of the scorpion>
i have a cat called lenor. shes 15 and dribbles massively when shes stroked...she follows me around and loves giving little cat licks. will pop a little pic of her up when i get back from driving. insects - ill write about those little shits when i get back from driving too
i used to be the same way. i loved catching bugs and even worms. now even having an ant crawl on me freaks me out a bit. guess i would suck if i had to camp somewhere. that being said however, i try not to kill bugs as i do feel bad when i do it and invision myself being reincarnated as a bug being squished by some paranoid human being. there are times though that i just can't stand the buggers (pun intended) and have to rid myself of them. certain bugs though like fleas on the cat don't bother me to kill them in whatever way possible as i see them more as a parasite than anything else.
There used to be a black and white cat who came to my flat. Prowling about looking for love. I classed her as a pet as I saw her everyday. Lately I have not seen her. I have seen the mother. A person who lives opposite asked me if I had seen the black and white cat. I said I haven't but would keep looking. Bet some fox swallowed her whole. Apparently the cat was called Petra. A few years ago had two rats. One white one and one grey/white. They were females and would let them run about in my bedroom. They died one day because of illness.
aww in my appletree are two woodpigeons i think, the ones with the band round their necks anyway, and ive just been watching them from my kitchen window. theyre so cute! normally i see male birds chasing female birds and the females are running away, but these two; theyre kissing and nudging each other all affectionately and then they made baby birdies and theyre still being all affectionate. its really sweet!
I miss Cerebus posting too. I've seen him once in a blue moon make a comment but he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth for a bit.
I used to have two cars but they died and mum doesn't want to get another one. But my brother has two albino gerbals. The're great fun.
I totally forgot that gerbils existed! guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils etc, I totally just forgot about all these rodents. Sorry rodents!
I love rodents. I used to have a guinea pig named Hershey, she was the best pet ever. She'd sleep in my hoodie all the time, when I was at home, she was with me! Animals are great.
