I'm skeptical given CNN's live scenerio of 'What Would Happen if There Was a Cyber War' that they put on about 6 or so months ago.

How do we know it isn't all another ploy to further restrict our freedoms in the name of online safety/security threats?

I don't understand the plan at all. The video makes it clear early we are all to blame, every single person. Then it seems to proceed like any other polemic about government oppression and need for resistance. It doesn't seem clear what they think is the problem, or what is the answer so the bare fact of hostility against -something- remains.

The youtube comments are pissing me off a treat, people are too scared to do anything, all they want to do is criticise.

LISTEN AGAIN! The idea for the next four months is to spread awareness and become a capable human being to ensure the smooth running and support of phase 2. In four months of Earth time the shit will be seriously hitting the fan, even if it isn't anonymous throwing it, so they propose that you READY YOURSELF AND OTHERS.

As usual, a very commendable attempt at freeing the human race is bogged down by those who JUST DON'T GET IT. They keep buying the bullshit and they keep living their lives as worthless slaves.

This cyber war spilled into the internet from the physical world and when it spills back into the physical world it's going to be ten times bigger. It's time to dump your pseudo-intellects, it's time to admit that your life is worth nothing, it's time to swallow your pride in your fake life, it's time to stand up like adults without the man wiping your arse and doing your thinking for you. It's time.

If the problem was clear a solution would be easy to find. A solution would also mean an eventual end to government intervention. Why would they want that?

If the problem remains, both unclear and indefinite, the government can put its hands wherever it likes for as long as it likes. Look at the current wars for example.

My friend,
You have to understand that Rome wasn't built in a day. And in the same way years of programing and manipulation are not going to be undone with any sort of ease. To that effect, we're going to have to explain the current situation over and over again plus we're going to have to keep finding new ways to explain it.

So be calm and exercise a little bit of patience. The best thing to do is just keep sending out the message of love. But most importantly, keep loving those you're trying to talk to. Even if they make you angry and frustrated.

So let me sum it up this way,

If you beat a man with bat, he will only follow you due to fear and submission.

The "system" is just too damn strong to fight any other way. Trust me that I know what I'm talking about. I was a practicing lawyer for more years that most users of this forum have been alive.

Well I prefer the 1960s myself. But when you examine the problem critically, you arrive at only a small handfull of solutions. And sadly, the collapse and destruction of the Internet and the abandoning of most technology is indeed one of those solutions.

When you and I can't talk to each other. The government can't talk to us either. They can't pump in propoganda, manipulate the minds of our children, recruit young men for the military, etc.

And they can't track us either. No more "real time" access to who you are and where you came from. The old saying, "if you don't like it.. you can leave" becomes a possiblity again. When things just get too hard or bad, you grab your backpack and go someplace else. And the system won't be able to stop you.

Technology addiction is rampant in our society. And regardless if anyone is prepared to admit it or not, there is an "equality" in low tech societies. As my grandfather once said to me, "when the sherrif came to take my home. It was my neighbors that helped me run him off my land and that was the end of the story." Good luck doing that today

Very insightful. The part on cyber-commercialism would be an accurate prediction, methinks. They attacked E-bay and Amazon before using very simple means, it would not take much to up their game and use a more sophisticated cyber weapon to cripple - or disable completely - the 2 largest commercial consumer vehicles that the world has ever seen. I don't think the CIA actually owns facebook but it certainly funds it and farms information from it. But that ain't going to help them a bit, fuck knows what they could even gain from knowing all the stupid shit that people do anyway, I laughed so hard when I heard about their relationship with the social networking sites!!! Who would be dumb enough to do something radically important outside of encrypted channels???? I feel sorry for the poor schmuck who has to read all the inane nonsense that facebook produces from people, spying on people's virtual farms, syphoning virtual chips from virtual poker!! Idiots!

And yes, you are so right. Lots are saying "what if they catch anonymous" and other stupid shit. BASIC tactics (like the dispersing you mention) will OBVIOUSLY be employed, and definitely more complex ones. They will be using cyber tactics that we haven't even HEARD about yet!! We basically know all the tactics that the CIA/FBI/MI6 etc employ, we KNOW OUR ENEMY! When it comes to the cyber world, the powers that be are years behind and severely out-gunned!!! I'm so fucking excited!

If people don't understand, it's up to you to explain clearly. You're angry, but I don't think you know about what. The fact is, if people need to declare war on something, then they're saying they're not to blame. Fixing the world? Fix yourself first. Some of us are already working on that.

 

Some of us approach things with a cooler head, for some of us our vitriol overflows into our actions, words and written words. I thought that did explain it clearly, I made it simple so it could be understood, also suggesting that you listen again, it's easier to understand things if you listen/read them more than once.

I'm sorry, Walsh, I do respect you and I didn't mean to direct that tirade at you, I kind of went off on a tangent and got way over-excited after being excited to begin with. Feel free to tell me to shut up or tone it down if I get too offensive, I get so caught up in the moment sometimes but I'll come back to Earth when you give me a tug.

Besides, you'll need angry people like me that get worked up enough to resist the line of police pushing forward with shields and batons when things get juicy. There'll come a time when a lot of anger will be needed, I'm just practicing for then!

 

I understand where you're coming from. Trust me when I say that not a day goes by that I don't want to grab someone by the throat and scream at them "wake up!" But I know that the moment I do that, they're never going to hear a word I say.

The stakes we're playing for this time are just too high. We can not afford to loose this time. So before you talk to somone or write something on the Internet, you got to stop and "check yourself out" first. Make sure your mentally prepared to do the job. Remember the old expression of, "if you make a man happy, he might tell 2 or 3 other people. But make a man angry, he will tell 100 people."

Finally you need to understand the enemy we're fighting.
Our "enemies" have no morals and no attachements. They will stoop to anything in order to accomplish their objectives. And they have thousands of advanced sophisticated weapons whereas, we only have 2 weapons. Our brains and love.

We have already read that the "system" can create "fake messages" on forums and social networking sites. Plus, the system deploys "actors" on our streets to spread their propoganda. (see the documentary "corporation") Trust me when I say, there is a good chance you might be yelling at a someone paid to start a fight.

The system wins every argument by just getting you to argue/fight with them. You end up validating their commentary because by fighting with them you are by defacto, acknowledging their perspectives.

So do NOT argue with anyone at any cost.

Instead ignore thier words and just tell them that you love them. And be sincere in that love. They can only mock and ridicule you for doing that. But mockery and ridicule towards someone that only wants to spread love makes anyone watching the scene turn against the agressor. Or else they feel sick in the pit of their stomache.

And there is no defense or tool in the system's arsenal that can be used against love.

I'm pissed off as hell at our government. I get angrier with each passing day. People should be pissed off. If you're not pissed off you don't have enough information.

Anonymous seems to be encouraging people to fix themselves. They're encouraging self-sufficiency and artistic expression. Thats exactly the kind of revolution I would like to see.
