Yep...it’s always them. Same old smell of racism. The large number of people over 60 in China is a relic of birth rates before aggressive family planning policies kicked in.

Oh. Well I read that as.. It did.

  3. Only issue with that is the chinese government have made it compulsory because of the communist government that makes all the dumb decisions for everyone instead of allowing everyone to make their own decisions.

Lol you pretty much state your opinion as gospel in all of these threads and try and tell everybody what to think and do. :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

I never know what it means when you don't respond. Do you disagree? From the wiki page about sea level rising, it's exactly what I thought.. It DID rise 7.5cm. That's where the sentence you posted came from. Not, oh that much ice should have been sufficient to raise it by that much but we haven't even checked.

I've said this before, but since this thread seems to be going wonky I might as well add my own smartassery to it:

Climate change, formerly known as global warming, end of the world, etc.... I still think it's all bullshit. Don't waste time responding. I won't listen or regard you as anything but in ignorant moron if you do. Why? Because, no matter whether you call it warming or cooling, it's all happened before, and it'll happen again. If the so-called worst happens, so what? What if the oceans rise several feet and innundate the east and west coasts? Who will we lose? Answer: All those rabid, raving left-wing triggered, pussyhat-wearing socialist numbskulls who's policies have turned the golden state into a third-world cesspool and all those same kinds of idiots along the east coast who have done the same, including Washington, DC (with any luck). We might even get rid of Bloomberg's backyard as well. Hot damn!

Ok, sarcastic rant-mode off. I really don't want to see all that loss of life and culture. Nah, not even the leftists. They're personalities are too colorful and entirely too much fun! And yes, there are more than a few right wingnuts I wouldn't mind being rid of, too, but it's just not a good thing to be serious about wishing disaster on those you disagree with.

All the aforementioned aside, it's still fun to poke the bear once in a while. Lighten up, everybody. Go to a concert, party, or just find a partner and get sweaty or something that makes you think good things for a while. Relax. Hold your hands out to your sides, thumbs and index fingers touching and say "Oooohhhhmmmmm.....oooohhhhmmmmm...."

By the way, Driftrue, I didn't say anyone was a moron or incorrect. I said I'd REGARD you as a moron . Big difference. Don't worry, though. You'll catch on....
In the meantime, I think I'll get another drink and a cookie. Might I encourage you to do the same...?

    Oh, didn't see that before

Too much Coronavirus stuff going on

Yes, they are melting sort of, no the sea levels haven't gone up 7.5 cm since 1993

There's a footnote next to where it says 7.5cm on Wikipedia, read the report that footnote is linked to

Fair point, except in context I'd say it was a SMALL difference.

I've used the Americanism "cookie" for most of my life, but recently have started hating the word. Same with movie. They sound like baby words. I shall consume a biscuit while watching this film.

Short version is they don't want to pay to replace the satellites because they only measure surface area accurately not volume/depth/density

I am looking forward to their being a new president to put climate change back on the agenda. Pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord was a big mistake.

But that's not all. When I was in an environmental science class I spoke to my representative (as in House of Representatives) via email regarding the situation with subsidies for the energy sector. At present, the people who drill for oil receive a lot of assistance for their trouble relating to drilling and other things. I think it was if I remember correctly when they pay their taxes there's a break or which taxes are collected to begin with and when and all of that. I would imagine Sanders will want to eliminate the entire industry; replace it with a solar farm or something. But actually Joe Biden says he wants to end the subsidies. That's a step in the right direction, even if it's kind of a baby step. It's a couple billion dollars back in their budget too.
