Another mass shooting

I don't think it is the system, as in an institutional system. I think powerful guys like …some asshole…… pay for influence which directs the system to function in a way beneficial to them.

 

Yeah, as someone who gets upset when Tupac and Marilyn Manson are blamed for school shootings, I have to call bullshit on this too. Not only does it shift the focus from the real issue--mentally unstable people with access to firearms--it creates a scapegoat, and continues to foster a culture of a lack of personal accountability.

Better to squeeze several centuries worth of experience into a snappy slogan than to laboriously study those events and get a grip on the way people were back then that is so different from today. Oh well, it keeps the hate alive at least.

Still, it's a waste of time. If you can't defend your territory, you generally lose it. But you don't see anyone whining to this day about the Romans, Persians or Mongols. Nope, for some reason the whole bill ends up at the feet of the Americans. Good luck with that.

I can see why you respond the way you do then. I can't personally wave off a huge segment of the population to such a simple complaint set. I don't see enough from either party to invest that kind of trust and devotion. What I read here feels like seething hate. Not judging mind you. I'm no better with how I feel about oinkers.

 

Exactly! But then the Confederate flag became more important and Roof's victims were largely forgotten. Heck, nobody talks about Roof anymore either. Flags and monuments became a kind of spin-off issue that became its own cause, to this day.

I cant seem to find a picture of this and think its unlikely because the Charleston shooting happened the day after Trump announced he was running for president. Trump probably wasnt on Roof's radar at all by that point

If the Republicans are removed from the political process, our system of government would function just fine. All they ever do is to monkey it up!

 

I think that Cruz guy who shot up the school in Florida and the Texas church shooter had a red Trump hat too. I might be mistaken but do think they acted from heart and mind. They just don't like minorities. They think America is theirs, for whites only.

 

This is a good time to ban guns. A constitutional amendment is needed. 34 states need to sign on and it will be the law of the land.

 

I agree. The Unite The Right sort of changed the agenda. All these pro-Trump groups are off-shoots from the big KKK.

 

I can't fix the entire world. I just think we need sane people in Washington. I wish we could get Jimmy Carter back. I loved the 1970s
