Just noticed your post.
NO....flying is NOT the only job in the airforce. Who do you think works on planes? Crew members. A buddy of mine was in the AirForce and got a cushy little job being crew chief. Never had to fly his whole AirForce career. Atleast say something smart if you're going to diss the recruiter who did NOT lie to you.
A recruiters job is to stay on your ass. If you fill out their little post card with your name, address and phone number, you'll get calls until you say "I'm not interested, please stop calling/writing, etc." Why would you hate the military because a recruiter is only following up on you? A bakers job is to bake, a recruiters job is to recruit.

Considering the terrible history of American foreign affairs, joining the military is no more honourable than joining the Gambino family.

 

To each his own. I happen to find it very honorable.

 

As much as I don't like the American Government you can't use history as an excuse, no matter how much of a vicious circle it's turned into.

An organization has to be judged on its actions, not its goals or theory or vision. And in this case, its actions have been completely dishonourable.
