I never said it was logical, so no, I won't "admit that I was wrong". Just that the fact someone was so obsessed with proving it to be illogical pointed to a pettiness that I see in you too, and the fact that it was directed at women is illogical.

You and I both know that men and women use that phrase, and you and I both know that, to you and your kind, if a man uses it it's because he's stupid, but if a woman uses it, it's because she's a woman.

In their case, they invoke Logic (when, on an aside, they usually mean Reason) like some divine power that absolves them of any responsibility to be human, to be civilised, to consider the opinions of others. They think considering emotion in debate is irrational, unless it is their own, in which case they amalgamate that with their logic. He makes the woman who said this

It's irrelevant. He mistakes reason for logic. The difference is that we can reason things that are illogical, due to lack of or erroneous information. Logic does not attempt to fill in the blanks. I suppose that's arrogant and male of me to say, but it still amuses me that he's wrong on pretty much every count, and that he's accusing us of ignoring the topic at hand just because we're not following his tangent properly.

I think you may be confused: you were talking about a quote in someone's signature about "fucking for virginity". That is not my signature. I haven't dodged "the issue" at all. You are right that it is an illogical statement. I have merely commented on how irrelevant, or at best tangential, it is to the discussion, and how ironic it is that you cited a source as reference which seemed as utterly misogynistic as you are, attributing the illogical nature of the line to the female sex, despite it being a common enough phrase among both sexes. No-one is pretending it's any different: no-one cared about "the issue" to begin with, because it was puerile tangential nonsense that you brought up to fuel your desperate fevered ego.

Honestly though, you do come across as deeply misogynstic, and the fact that you work with women doesn't make a huge amount of odds. Most misogynists are married, after all. They tend to have a very traditional view of gender roles - otherwise known as "Get back in the kitchen!"
