i was a nerd that even the nerds were mean to. i was akward, i was a loner, and everyone assumed that having huge boobs meant i was an idiot. EVERYONE has it bad somehow. even the popular bitches. suffering is relative. the whole point is that we all suffer, we all take our shots, we all get kicked down by someone sometime. but the whole point is being able to get the fuck over it, get the fuck over ourselves, and TRY to get the big picture. anger rarely soves anything, except to perhaps energize you. but if you let the anger become the ENTIRE point, you've already lost.
Look at every sports record. Or take hockey for example: the Canadian Womans team (hard to call them anything but the best in the world) split a series with an AA Bantam Rep team. That is 14 year old boys. I played at that level and comparing me to even a pithy NHL player is a hell of a leap. You've got the awkward, child-bearing hips. They aren't practical for much besides giving birth.
and attracting attention. don't forget attracting attention. but they're ALSO good for carrying heavy burdens long distances. we're not built for speed, we're built for endurance.
So talk about it.......but be warned that nobody took over this thread and I expect you to answer anyone who answers you, regardless of gender with respect. Or I will shut this down. This forum will not be used to flame either sex. Heat
I wanted to talk about anti-male bias, and Some feminazis came and stole the topic and turned it from "antimale bias" into "woe is women. we have nothing. we are not equal yet. pitty us, cater to our flawed logic." Back on topic. Further flames and ignorance *will* be ignored on my part. This is **MEN'S ISSUES** forum and I'm here to talk about a **MEN'S ISSUE**, which is anti-**MALE** bias. So either crap or get off the pot. Thank you.
Ahhh, I'm not trying to be a dick, but you're kidding yourself. Marathon Records: Men. Ultramarathon Records: Men. Even jobs that involve packing lots of gear and where performance is measurable, Men outperform. The big example I can think of is tree-planting.
I think Confuzzled needs to eat some X and go frolick with some nymphs (not nymphos, but the mythical creatures!) and faeries in an ephemeral glowing green field.
we are finaly finaly getting to some good points here everybody no matter the sex or background has a chance to suffer from the life they were dealt, anger is the natural result, anger at whoever you perceive to be the ones who wronged you..blame gets placed on a whole section of the population, maybe because a few women, or men treated..or taught you wrong this is the basis of bias then theres the difference between actual bias, which can be repressented statisticly and perceived bias, whichis an emotional responce to events in your life which color your perception it seems to me this is more about the latter i cant get my way, why is everyone against me but i really dont see why this degenerated into a who can benchpress more or who can run faster discussion, nor do iunderstand why that would matter i maybe confused here, but is the point your trying to make that men are somehow oppressed because they can lift heavy objects? men can lift more women are more flexible & can touch theyre toes easier gee wiz men & women are different? really? i never knew that so what? are we just discovering that theres something different between our legs & suddenly surprised by it? i see no point indiscussing the differences between the sexes after all everyones aware that males & females are each capable of certain things the other is not, thats biology for ya, but if were talking about an anti male bias (dumb wording since to be anti male would mean against the existence of the male gender, suicidal tothe species) instead the thread should have been titled why do i feel persecuted for my penis or something to that effect and ithink that would have been more honnest & to the point sorry if thats getting a bit rediculouse but this whole thread just needs a completely different approach or a point would be nice too
Gosh, it sure is hard being a (heterosexual white) male in America. Someone help us!!! We're being oppressed!!! :nopity:
well, it's hard to take him seriously when he shows up in the women's issues forum, pitches a hissy fit, badmouths women in general, insults people, gets slapped down then comes over here for someone to just agree with him.
when men bring up subjects like this it makes me want to scream with laughter, does anyone know how many years that women fought, just to get basic rights like to vote? how many women died or got injured? however they actually had something to go out and fight about and while I agree that men and women should be treated equally, when I hear men complaining that society is sexist towards them, it just sounds like school boy moaning S
well it's a very hard time, being forced to move over to make room. i understand that. and there will be hiccups. but rage? nah. that's not right.
Since when was this an racial issue? I said anti-male bias. Not "anti-white-male" bias. Reading comprehension? I don't recall being slapped down anywhere. Please point out where I did. If you're going to be disrespectful, then leave. If you're not going to take a real topic seriously, leave. But here, I'll return the favor for you... You're making me laugh! How many men have died in all the wars that women didn't have to fight? The right to vote (you act like it's existed for 10,000 years... only for a few hundred, actually) was earned in blood sweat and tears! Hahaha! And you're gonna act like it's a huge deal that women protested for a few decades to vote? Hahaha! And you know, the women are got killed... those were the one's that went out with clubs and murdered people as a sign of protest. They didn't teach you that in Feminism 101 did they... that women were not the peaceful, innocent protestors. Civilization is 10,000 years old, give or take, and the entire time, there has been war that men faught. Sorry if it took you a couple of decades to get the right to vote... but hey, you act like every white man had the right to vote when the country was founded. That's not true... only people who could A) Read B) Owned land (which meant... RICH WHITE MEN... not the average white man, since most white men at that time were poor and eneducated just like the women.) Feminists don't wanna realize that men and women have had it pretty much as bad as eachother for millenia. It was only the minority of men in power who had it good. Feminist want to say "oh boohoo, women weren't allowed to work and vote." Gee. You act like men were on some eternal vacation and women were "opressed" by having to wash some dishes? Hmm. What about the dangerous and filthy factory work that men were doing? Hmm really? Okay let's see. Divorce: Man hardly ever gets the child, woman does. I'd say that's sexist enough right there. Child Support: Women who don't pay their child support to single-fathers go to jail less frequently and suffer less penalties than men who don't pay their child support to single-mothers. I'd say that's sexist right there. Women have the option of being stay-at-home-mothers or going to work and having a career. Men still have the only option (obligation?) of going to work. That's... pretty sexist right there. You can act like it's a joke all you want. But that just proves my point of anti-male bias. If this was in the women's issues, and it was "anti-female bias" you'd have a bunch of chicks in the topic going "hell yah! i notice that all the time! u go grrl!" But since it's in men's issues and it's about anti-male stuff, you get a bunch of chicks in here going "oh shut up and stop complaining. it doesn't exist." But I've clearly demonstrated that it does exist. I guess women are allowed to talk about and stand up for issues concerning women, but men aren't allowed to talk about and stand up for issues concerning men. Oh, I guess men aren't allowed to be sensitive and concerned without being called "little school boys"... but if you took a masculine woman and someone called her a "bull dyke", oh shit, the flames would roar and that person would be crucified because women can be anything they want today. But men still can't. I call that sexist and you are only proving my argument for me with your attitude. Thank you, you've just demonstrated some anti-male bias and you criticize me for being "sexist". Good job. *claps* Now I've already established that anti-male bias exists, and you have helped me. I hope soon you grow enough humility to accept this so we can start discussing it.
I hate feminism. But...in reality a girl who is not a feminist is not going to get with you if you do not respect women or have a job. Because I am not a feminist and want a husband who makes all of the descisions and takes that stress away from me I expect him to be a good provider and kind. You do not seem to have either of those qualities so I am wondering what kind of traditional girl is going to go for you until you get your shit together.
I totally agree with this one. It is not right and completley disempowers men, making them think that the only thing they have to pffer are a paycheck and a punching bag. I hate commercials and tv shows that depict this.
I am not, and never have been, interested in you lynsey... so why do I care what you think in that regard? Hey, since you're so traditional why not act like a lady more often?
This isn't quite true. Regardless of 'gender,' the options are rather open in partnerships. Within a relationship, a couple can arrange things however works best for them. I don't think being a full-time parent is a walk in the park, bro. Even being a 'homemaker' only is hard work--hard work that isn't very economically or socially valued in our culture. And there are plenty of single moms out there who are juggling all three of these things on their own: career/work, homemaker, full-time parent. And I'm sure there are men out there doing the same thing... yet as you've pointed out, if you look at the statistics, it may be that women more often end up with custody than men. And what are you saying? Are you upset because you don't have custody of your children? You are hardly being sensitive.
