Billy (my oldest) wants to see that too. Maybe that is something I'll consider doing this weekend.

    Peanuts,

    Please answer this:

How are we ever going to win the war on terrorism and "kill them all" when they (being the terrorists) exist in every country, including our own?

Chances are this "war on terror" will last for many, many years -- probably decades. Your kids might have to fight it one day. How does that make you feel? How would you feel sending your kids off to die in a war that cannot be won?

These are things you need to think about.

All the boys that have died in Iraq so far DIED FOR NOTHING! They died to make George Bush and his globalist buddies even richer and more powerful than they already were to begin with.

The war in Iraq is not only IMMORAL, it's ILLEGAL -- and George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz are all war criminals!

To be honest I have not thought about the war lasting that long. My boys are so young I sometimes can't see till bed time.

How does it make me feel? It makes me feel sick to my stomach and makes me want to cry. My boys are the air that I breathe. If someone were to take them from me and harm them I would never be able to breathe again.

You say the boys over there have died for nothing but haven't we helped their country have some sense of order that they have never had before? Like voting and women being able to make a decision and not be scolded for doing so? I am not arguing with you but I don't think we have completely been over there for nothing.

I agree there will always be evil, war, bad guys. Why is that? I know we do not live in a perfect world but it doesn't have to be as bad as it's been.

    Thanks Peanuts. :)

I respect your opinion. You seem like a very kind person. That shouldn't prevent us from disagreeing with each other, though.

Yes, you are right, women will be allowed to vote for the first time in this upcoming election in Iraq, as Afghan women were allowed to vote in last week's election in Afghanistan for the first time.

As great as that sounds, you also have to be realistic and consider everything else that has been going on over in Iraq. It doesn't seem like things are getting better. As a matter of fact, things keep getting worse and worse over there. Our men are dying everyday, while the country spins further and further out of control. You have to wonder if things will ever get better over there, and ask yourself how many more people (both Americans and Iraqis) will have to die before peace is seen. Will it ever been seen? It sounds good and positive to say that it will, but when you look at the true nature of things over there, it couldn't be any worse.

Iraq is far worse off now than before we invaded it, and has since become a breeding ground for terrorism. So really, the invasion of Iraq has made the world less safe. It's only a matter of time before civil war breaks out in the Middle East. I know that sounds grim, but it's a very possible reality that we all must consider and face.

It has been proven that Saddam was no real threat to us. Am I glad he was removed from power? Of course. But that does not justify the loss of life we have seen.

I can only imagine how the parents must feel that have lost their sons and daughters in this war, especially after finding out that Saddam had no links to al-Qaeda, nor possessed any WMD's.

What's wrong with the world, mama
People livin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma
Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin'
In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah
    Badness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
Nigga, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'allPeople killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek

    Father, Father, Father help us
Send us some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
    Where is the love (Love)

Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
    Where is the love
    The love, the love

It just ain't the same, always unchanged
New days are strange, is the world insane
If love and peace is so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong
    Nations droppin' bombs
Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones
With the ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young
So ask yourself is the lovin' really gone
So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong
In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin'
    in
Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends
Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother
A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover
The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug
If you never know truth then you never know love
    Where's the love, y'all, come on (I don't know)
    Where's the truth, y'all, come on (I don't know)
    Where's the love, y'all

    People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek

    Father, Father, Father help us
Send us some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
    Where is the love (Love)

Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
    Where is the love
    The love, the love

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us followin' in the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema
Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness in equality
Instead in spreading love we spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep my faith alive till love is found

    People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek

    Father, Father, Father help us
Send us some guidance from above

A terrorist is a freedom fighter who attacks you while a freedom fighter is a terrorist who attacks someone else.

the iraq war isnt going to end anytime soon. your, or someone elses son will be off to whatever region is next on the list.

and just to go over it, 9/11 is directly connected to iraq. it was the usa's bombing of the wtc that gave them the 'motive' to move troops into the middle east[IMG]

Ooo, don't say that. Someone might accuse you of being a "conspiracy theorist".

C'mon, the government loves us. They would never do anything to hurt us, especially the power-hungry men at the upper ranks of our government who pull the strings. :p

What makes me mad is that the US is using my familys hard earned tax dollars on a pointless illegal war on a country across the ocean while our country is in massive amounts of debt, povery, and crime

peanuts, i really like you, but that statement is so heartbreakingly naive. we have not brought a sense of order to iraq, by the farthest stretch of the imagination. we have brought nothing but death, destruction, and chaos:

many mothers' children have died, and yes, they have died for nothing. they have died for lies and greed. i really like you, but please, take your head out of the sand.

more civillian casualties have been caused by muslim extremists in Iraq than by coalition forces. US forces. Military die, that is what they get paid for, theirs and ours. I dont support a draft but I am active duty Military and I understand this concept. I get certain benefits from uncle sam that I willingly traded my constutional rights and offerd up my death for. you dont know where I was when I joined, and I am not gonna tell you, but I am a better person now than I was 5 years 6 months and 10 days ago. if they would quit bombing the security and govenrment officials , we would get the hell out of there a lot quicker. The unstabilty is not helped by the bombing of the natives that are trying to help build an infrastructure. I do understand the locals resisting, They dont trust us. But Saudi's and Lebanese and Kuwati's are bombing Iraqi natives to keep the US from ...well I dont know what they are trying to to prevent. depopulating the country would only serve our oil intrests. with no locals, and them having been killed by people other than us, we win. yes all you conspiracy theorists should be wondering right about now. Funny how its Jordanians and Syrians bombing markets and bazaars. Yup , real funny.

    Thank you for your post.

I am not going to argue with you. In fact I will agree with you. I am naive.

Making a thread like this is a way for me to hear what other people have to say. To try and understand more about this war, the pro's and con's. I can watch the news but I think (I know) I get a better understanding when I talk with people. In my case it has to be on the internet.

Thank you Andy for your post.

This is an awesome point. Your in the military so you would know more about this than a lot of us. (okay, you would know more than me)

If the people over there would stop being maniacs and bombing everyone/everywhere we would be able to get out a lot faster. How can we leave when they are terroizing their own people?

When I hear Bagdad bombed (front page Excite news this morning) it doesn't even appear news to me. Every day, sometimes several times a day this is happening. No one can control these people? They are not even people they are empty hearted machines.
