    Here's a concept!!!!!!!

    Think about this one:
Apple has more hard cash in the Bank than the next three World government, Correct?

Apple's I-phone 5 goes on sale today! Correct.

Analysists figure that Apple stands to make 2 and a half times, with the sales of the I-phone 5, more then the entire total of what they've earned to-date on all total previous I-phone sales.
Something like 3 Bill plus. I think. On this 1 product. — source CNN
    ________

    Now what if:

What if us WEB people started a Major viral thing online and kept it viral till Apple when broke!

Then Apple would sue the CIA, FBI, and NSA. For Billions and Obviously WIN.

An maybe Apple would also change their product.

A forced boycott as a Boycott Force!
Start forcing the giant corporation that control the governments to change the government to the way the we want them to be.

    No Dollars No Business!
    Organize!

There's a real simple solution for all this. It won't cost anyone a dime and it's been known to convey health benefits.

And if you feel daring there's always one of this big green areas.

Problem solved!!! No more being spyed on and no more worrying about upgrading to the next piece of plastic crap.

you shouldn't throw electronics in the trash.. they should be properly recycled

And how does being in a park stop me from being spied on? did binoculars and lip reading magically disappear?

I'll start worrying when some fool joins 'attack response software' and this form of intrusion in armed drones.
The human race is insane. We're creating the means of our own extinction and we think we're ever so clever.

The binoculars are all made in china and actually make things appear further away.

Like most of the intellectual talent in the United States, the lip readers came from another nation and when their H1B visas expired, they left. They left to create their own centers of intellectual talent in their nations that will undercut our products and services.

With that in mind and to redress this subject. Let me say that I guess the dictionary is currently being rewritten.

Democracy is now defined as, "Facebook."
Sex is now synomonous with "webcam"
    Progress is "Apple."
    Inovation is "War."
    Evolution is "hairless genitals."

And the new word and definition for fear is " PARK."

Def; The gripping sensation in the pit of one's stomach followed along with clammy hands and an extremly elevated hart rate. The extreme paranoia and uncertainty most often caused by the idea or requirement of having to turn off one's electronic gadgets and enter in a vast green space of trees and plants. A vast natural space without the comfort of walls, a nearby toilet or a wifi hotspot.

We are evolving, with the eventual insertion of 'intelligent' devices into our very bodies, into something really nasty. Let's hope our species doesn't survive to move out into the galaxies where we'll treat every other intelligent species we stumble across the way we've treated our own.

The technology is already far more sophisticated than portrayed in that work of fiction. In fact, now that science is exploring organically based 'chips' the sky's the limit . Be very afraid. Your descendants first birthday present could be an internal software up-grade that will instantaneously notify the authorities of even anticipating committing an 'antisocial act' or, heaven forbid, thinking about imbibing a banned substance.
Some years ago we'd already left behind the suggested ethics of robotic intelligence explored in "I Robot" with the application of intelligent, self targeting drones. In some ways we've already passed a point of no return ourselves. Try taking a teenager's mobile away from them.
    What's next? Borgs V Drones?

    Won't happen

One of 2 things will occur and anyone not seeing where this will go pretty much has their head up their ass.

    1) Humans upgrading themselves before machines start to invent themselves.

When it comes time to see what parts we keep and what we upgrade. They're just going to figure out that upgrading our bodies is expensive and futile. So instead instead of making out natural legs move faster.. They will just be replaced with robotic ones and the same will be said for every single organ of the human body.

Until they get to the brain.

Considering this thing is only about an estimated 300 meg or so. And that humans tend to be erratic and self centered. There will probably be a very "short period" of ethical upgrading but very quickly the entire idea will be scraped in favor of more efficient 100% artificial brains. At which point humanity ceases to exist...We becomes extinct and the machines take over.

    2) The ability to upgrade ourselves occurs after machines gain the ability to self create.

Invent themselves or self create it all comes down to the ability to procreate. Ie: create offspring. At this point the machines stop being machines and become a species that's superior to us in every way possible. And they will be in direct competition for resources with us.

So our human body "up grades" will have to follow at the same pace the machines are able to evolve at. Considering that the majority of our upgrades will be to human body parts. We will be following the exact same model of "scrap the legs, scrap the eyes, scrap the digestive system, etc." Until once again the only arguable thing to be saved will be the brain.

This time the brain will be augmented until very little of original humanity is left and eventually the entire brain is just tossed in the scrap pile.

The biggest diffference in this scenario is humanity survives but our societies collapse. Augmentation to merge with the machines is more chaotic and haphazard due to the criteria of suitable candidate selection and the speed needed to accomplish the upgrades due to competition with the new machine species.

End result is the vast majority of the population never gets their brain removed and placed inside a computer of a new robotic body. With lack of resources caused by the technological persuits and the machines consuming what they need to procreate; we end up back living in the caves trying to start fire with 2 sticks.

Creative destruction... My ass! The keyword in that expression is "destruction." One way or another the path we're on is extinction and we probably only have 1 or 2 generations left.

I find it kind of funny when misguided morons believe they have the ability to think.. Just saying.

    Bed go up
    Bed go down

    Bed go up
    Bed go down

This process commenced some years ago and goes under the name of 'genetic algorithm'. Google it if you're brave.

Don't let my typos fool you, I actually prefer public and university libraries. Ok I spent some effort getting familiar with this "science" and it's basically a search algorithm. Good for when very little is known about a problem and certain solution is needed. (Thats a very short reductionist explanation)

What we're dealing with here is a obviously a new religion. And it's a fucking dangerous one because like all religions, it concentrates a massive amount of power and wealth into the hands of an extremly small minority of people.

With that in mind allow me to explain the new holy trinity.

    Science will tell us everything
    Technology will give us everything.
The market will let us buy everything.

And when you have a trinity it begs that there must be a bad guy / devil. In this case that devil is nature itself.

It's such a loss and such a waste this new religion. Because what it does is increasingly distance us from reality and our emotional experiences. Think of sex as an example of this.

Science can analyize everything about sex from body temperature(s) to ovulation and sperm counts, body odours, volume of sweat produced, etc.
But all that detail tells no one NOTHING about the experience of actually making love. In fact someone can be the world's foremost authority on everything about sex but still be a virgin!

Don't know which typo you're referring to but I'd rather use a library myself than the web for information but even libraries are being overtaken by the digital flood.
As to search algorithms and genetic algorithms they aren't quite the same.
Genetic algorithms are granted far greater autonomy by their creators (US!) than search algorithms which have defined aims, usually something crass like Google's profits in the end.
And yes, I agree with everything else you've said.

When I started looking at what exactly genetic algorithms were and it became obvious that I would have to spend months to just scratch the surface. So instead I worked on making sure I wouldn't be lost in a conversation about them. To this extent I'm confident that I understand the concept.

So allow me to address your comment about "defined goals."

The christians have a scripture that covers our present day situation.
"God created man in his own image."
Today mankind creates but what is being created and who is doing the creating? Do we ever as a society ever stop and ask what the moral character of the people that are engaged in this sort of research and creation? Without a doubt these are not alturistic people with alturistic goals.

The people engaged in this research and development are believe in science's god like greatness. But they are NOT people of great compassion or morality such as Mother Teresa of Calcutta or anyone possibly listed on Watts's Memoria.

The people enganged in this research are the men of corporations.. of governments and.. of militaries. And there is nothing redeeming in their motivations.

    Greed motivates the corporations
    Paranoia motivates the governements
    Conquest motivates the militaries.

So I'll put these 2 questions forward.

    1. What are any of these groups truely capable of creating?
    2. And why would any sane human being want anything they made?

    ps. I'm not christian.
