Of course it was made in the West. Russia was a backward state. The Russian Orthodox and autocratic political culture saw change as evil, which stunted industrial growth.

While you might be correct in saying that weathly industrialists incouraged the Bolshevik Revolution, they most likely did so because they knew Russia had no developed infrastructure; they would need to import loads of goods to support the revolution, stabilize their gains, and carry out the industrial progress dictated by marxist doctrine.

Also, just because they were industrialists, doesn't mean they were necessarily oppossed to improving worker's lives. After all, there is a fairly credible school of economic thought which says that the more workers have, the more they spend! So I don't find it a contradiction that Industrialists supported Marxism. Look at Engles, for example.

The fact that Lenin was shipped to Russia was a short-sighted strategic move (which worked!) to get the Russians to sign an armstice. Even if it didn't work, the Germans thought it would distract and demoralize the Russian populace, and undermine support for the Romanovs. They did it as a last ditch attempt, not as part of a global conspiracy.

Also, what exactly did the Illuminati have to do with Hegelian dialetics? I stil don't see your point (see my last post). It may be bad philosophy, but its hardly a conspiracy.

As far as psychology goes, I am with Chomsky, Maslow, and Glasser. We are inherently seeking goodness, and only when we are thwarted in that pursuit do we become dysfunctional and our actions abherent. I agree with Skinner to a point,but at some age one must take responsibility for ones choices, regardless of the conditioning. To me, that is what I term adulthood.

 

I haven't heard of Glasser. That's interesting information though. What else?

 

In the early 70's Glasser made a huge impact with his 'reality therapy'. I bought his book 'The Choice Theory' in the mid 90's, and it is probably the single most important book I have ever read. Honestly. It is based on the premise that we should not try to force others to change, cuz changing ourselves is a big enough challenge to last a lifetime, and also, cuz trying to change others doesn't work. It only causes misery. I read it 3 times, and have lent it out so many times, I don't even know where it is right now. It helped me in every aspect of relationships, work, home, love, school, etc.

 

I was suggesting that Pressed Rat's Conspirators and their Conspiracies are mere puppets, slaves to unconscious psycho-sexual impulses.

That our need to control, own and aquire develops in our anal-stage of sexual development, and becomes a life-long association.

That fear physically grips the rectum triggering an associated anal-retentive response to control, own, and aquire.

That controlling, owning, and aquiring are the unconscious homo-erotic pleasures of every Civilized Man.

Add to this the fear-driven effeminate submission to the security and authority of the hierarchical structure of Civilization, and you end up with the latent homosexual known as Civilized Man.

I really don't think all 'civilized' men are latent homosexuals. Some, sure. I don't even know what you mean by 'civilized'. What cultures in the world are not civilized? From their perspective?

I just think people have to accept that they are both masculine and feminine. Until then, you are always going to have some sort of repression. But accepting your feminine side does not require one to be, 'effeminate'.

Academic psychiatry doesn't like imprecission, it makes them feel like Witch-Doctors.

So in the mean time the Academics mostly research the more measurable neuro-congnitive sciences.

But in private practice, the majority of psychiatrists use a lot of psycho-dynamics.

Chomsky's constant appeals to altruism in Hegemony or Survival made me question my commitment to socialism. He failed to convince me, and I took the first big step towards an egoist, libertarian world view. Sometimes, authors I think I will agree with all the time end up disillusioning me.

Like it has been said before: very dense work, but despite the fact i have to read it accompanied by a dictionary, i'm really glad he didn't dumb it down to make it sell. I'm reading Necessary Illusions right now. It deals a lot with media thought control in a democratic society. I think it's really interesting, even to a lamen.
