Wicca came here hundreds of years ago? .......................

ANYWAY...I was speaking of how proud one should be to be on the soil
that their ancestors told their stories from....I wouldnt trade my native
soil for another, but a part of me longs to have my feet touch the ground
that my ancestors bleed for and are buried in....it's not the same here.

I think you don't appereciate what it is to live in such a white washed place where
ones ancestoral culture is silly and is a waste of time.....unless you aren't "white" of course.

Oh dear Silver Salamander, I do hope you're not serious.
I laughed anyway, well it was that or put my head through the desk.

    Nah, Heron's a smart guy.
Well I suppose it's impossible to get a totally accurate image of somewhere you've never been. My idea of Mississippi is probably just as far removed from his reality of the state. So I'll let be.

Wow am I glad I'm drinking anything!
Umm I think you mean the Puritans or something; because wicca is not an ancient religion. It was made up in the 1950s by an Englishman named Gerald Garder. Then it came to America sometime in the '70s I believe, aided by Raymond Buckland et al.
If you don't know that well then at the very least you don't deserve to be considered Wiccan (beyond a 'rabid fluffybunny' capacity).

Oh yes, England is so horribly opressive about religions. We aren't taught about all the major world religions in schools, you can't buy Eid or halloween cards in Clintons, people never just mind their own bloody business.
Oh by the way, I was being sarcastic.

Yes but look what it's come to, George W. Bush. Pretty crap trade really.
Actually I think Christianity has a stronger influence on American politics than England would ever allow (you ever hear of British schools banning the teaching of evolution?). We have a long history of religious troubles and diversity so it doesn't get a foothold.

Oh so you read 1984 too, the medal is in the post.
Regardless in the grand scheme of things we're not doing too badly. I think if it was so vastly diffrent we'd know about it.

    Umm oh kay
I don't go in for the whole 'rabbling new-agey hokum' but hey whatever does it for yah.

And what about women? Are they just going to be left to their own devices, because really that suits me just fine.

Let me touch on this...as I just caught it in re-reading...

    True Democracy?

You mean where we...the people...personally choose our leaders, and have complete say and freedom in the ways of our government?

    :stupid:

We have no say in our leadership...period...AT ALL...and they strip away a freedom a day here..

Did you know that I could be held as a war criminal...untried...forever...just for speaking out against the government? Under the nice "Homeland Security Act"....which just happens to be the name of Hitler's wonderful idea of the past.

I would rather serve a king of long lineage with honor, than follow an oppresive president that I had no say in getting.

    With Honor..Ogmios

Usually, when someone says something about Wicca being hundreds or even thousands of years old, they are a 16 year old girl, not a 44 year old man. Myths know no lines I suppose.

Then again if I had a tuppence for every Brit I've met with an obvious axe to grind I wouldn't have to swing a hammer for 14 hours daily.

Perhaps they are lucky but be warned:

When the neolithic stone circles demand a sacrifice - they don't question :leaving:
